I'm still a mini newbie, but it looks like your esc and receiver are both on the right side. Is this to balance the weight?

Hi all,

When the 3Racing gear diff is fitted to the M05 is there any need to fit the rubber o rings in the inner driveshaft cups?

Yeah John, it's called ShooGoo, Goop or silicone cement, if you prefer. Surprisingly, you'll break the fan before it comes off. I've never had one come off, but have had the steering linkage break a couple.

I'm not too keen on 3racing products but we always used this one and it worked well.

Are you guys finding a need for fans in BL minis? That's a bit surprising, given the 5.8 FDR.

In other news, I've finally made my m04 work with BL. It was a sweetheart with a silver can, but the torque of the BL systems brought out all the bad manners. WHOO!

I'm sure the people running 50+ deg timing on hot asphalt will for sure be running them.

What Core said... given the gearing limitations, the best way to get speed out of a 21.5 (TCS rules) is to advance the motor timing. Timing = heat

Speaking of that body/decal set.... I got the GoPro Monster S.S. Swift version of the M05 kit, but I wanted to pick up a couple more and maybe use one of them to enter in the TCS Best of Show/Concourse. Unfortunately the only place I could find them in stock is RCMart. Has anyone seen them in stock domestically? I guess I may have to bite the bullet on the shipping.

Timing = Heat is right..... With max timing my mini is a rocket. But it comes off really hot. Turn down the timing and I am chasing the pack.

I think there will be some motors being cooked in the TCS mains.

I was wondering what every ones option on sway bars on M05's on carpet?

My car is good on asphalt but I seem to be chasing a set up on carpet. I talked with fellow racers and made some changes. Will be testing more this week. I read on RC-Mini that running a rear sway bar makes the car easier to drive. Thoughts?

So I just got an HPI Firebolt 15 turn motor in from a friend as a Christmas present. What differences will it make compared to my Trinity Slot Machine II 27 turn? Should I run a smaller pinion? I know it's not club legal for most places, but my local track is letting me see if I can make my M03 competitive with some of the touring cars and pan cars that they run.

What is the TCS rule re fan mounting? Can you just bond them on the chassis, or is it like the heat sink and you have to bolt it to the motor?

I'd run the 20 and check temps after a heat. If you can touch it, it's okay.

Not to post multiple replies, but what are the TCS Legal parts for A front foam bumper for the m03 or m05 chassis? Can you get the block of bumper foam for a sedan (a tamiya part), cut a chunk out, and just bond it in?
