Thank you all for the valuable info. Did some testing today for a few minutes on low grip surface and no cut off. I also think a capacitor to the rx will not offer anything, the system doesn't seem to be in need of power reserve.
If it continues and fun is not there we will of course upgrade.

To get things straight.:
-battery comes out at 7.9 (have 2 packs of them), so nothing drains them
-speedo is TEU 105BK
-speedo is flashing red (not mentioned in the manual what this stands for,LVC was my guess)
-there is steering even after "cut off"
-car was not supposed to run in water, i ran the car in my basement-parking-area which had some hidden puddles obviously. Not much, just stains of water on the chassis. The car will be racing on carpet track from now on (that's what it was bought for)
-actually both cars ran in the same basement. Could be coincidence that both of them run into water?

Capacitor on the RX was a suggestion out of our own experience. We run the same ESCs in our GT Spec class (TEU101/104/105) and have experienced similar problems most especially with the 104 and 105. We found that the ESC tends to protect itself after some time. So far the cure we found is to run a capacitor on the RX and put a fan on the ESC. Since then, most of the guys would be able to run their batteries down.
With the car on a stand, try turning it on and wiggling the wheel on your transmitter end to end rapidly... you'd notice your cars wheels will start to turn slowly...

I've had similar problems but I'm only recognising them now that people are saying this is common to the 104/105, I had been putting it down to radio issues. It's cost me a few races too. I'm out again this Saturday and am hoping for a trouble free day.

If you're racing, Sweep and Ride are some of the common tires used on these M-chassis. But check with your local club for any rules in this regard (ie. TCS).

EDIT: Oops, looks like i forgot to hit "send" on this one last night.
Well, you've got your standard "glitch buster" cap in the first pic.It's just like the one in the second pic, but it's got plug on it.
Another place a cap has come in handy in the past, though I think this might not be the issue, would be on the battery wire/power side. Any of these caps will work, but I like the Tekin (third picture) because they're small and cheap.

I guess any electrolytic Capacitor 10V, 4000μF and above will do right?

Yay! Brushless motors (21.5) are now TCS mini legal!
There are some smoking fast 21.5 Mini's being tested at the Tamiya America Track for some time now.
Looks like the TCS series has changed to brushless in the mini class. Any thoughts??

So now would be a good time to inform people that I'm in the market for stock brushed motor electrics?
