Its no use as a heat sink, however it will stop your motor moving in a crash and prevent it from crunching gears.

One other point is that the motor in a Mini can't move the way it is mounted. No way can it shift. I've never built a M06, so can't speak about those. Frankly, those that I've seen run doesn't make me want to rush to build the M06 kit purchased in a moment of weakness.

we found that the temperature difference is about 5 or so degrees cooler in favor of the heat-sink. whether or not this actually results in a performance gain is questionable but it does add more blue bling to the car,
however not sure if it would stop the motor moving as there isnt to much movement to cause stripping in the first place. you generally strip the gears when you hit something extremely bad while still holding full throttle, or get dirt in the gear housing.

The stock plastic motor plate breaks where the short counter sunk screw goes through. The plastic is quite thin where this screw goes.
However when broken you will more than likely not know untill you undo that screw.

So what if the TRF Blue motor plate/mount does or doesn't do anything. Its blue and looks blingy; so buy it anyway

Soon to be released: #84204 M05 S-Spec mini kit....

What is S Spec? New color of chassis plating?

This is all it says so far:
210mm short wheel base focused on the machine, easy to increase agility while pursuing eear grip aluminum suspension mount built only. Motor heat sink on the other side, serve as a counterweight transponder mount place. Front damper stay has also contributed to weight reduction in carbon. The main chassis matte silver plating, aluminum high torque servo saver horn, aluminum steering post, the kit is complete even basic equipment such as rear aluminum upright.

Advice from Champ is that the Spice MO5/MO6 Oil Gear Diffs will not be available until end of May beginning of Jun.
I know this will not worry our US bretheren who have to meet TCS rules. Never know, Tamiya might release there own in the future.
Later,
Calvin.

It won't be long before Tamiya re-badge the SpecR Gear diff as their own, shipping it with inferior instructions and upping the price 20% - As they did with the 417

Now why do U need a heavy gear diff with a front wheel driven car? The wheels will start spinnin' waaaaaaaaay before the ball diff does. In a high power touring car I can come in to that but any FF with mild motor it will only ad rotating mass.
