RC Market is a poorly made site because I can't use my keyboard on that site.

Or RcMart...

Hi,

Wondering if there are any clubs near Fremont, California, USA that runs Tamiya Mini class? Looking to get some friends involved in some fun RC racing. Some links or contact info would be great!

Thanks,

Ivan

Well with a big mini crowd 5min down the road, well i guess i just had to go out and snap up a car for fun. Well a bought a ex-Trackside car from a fellow Tech'r and i'm very pleased with what i received. I purchased 1 of thew new orion 3000mah rocket lipos which'll be more than enuff for me to goof around with. Made up some fresh connectors for motor and repaired 1 on the speedo...score a 20T pinion and i'm ready for handout class. yeh its an old m03 but sounds like its still a match for the new car and parts are not a problem (not mentioning what i already had given to me in the box :D ) . Look forward to finally goofin around with these things just for fun. it'll be far more relaxing then even the stress of 2wd mod, let alone TC or N-Buggy.

does anyone know the part # for a 20T flourine coated pinion? Struck out trying to find it on the Tamiya web site. Also Robinson Racing used to make a 20 pinion but am unable to find a source. Any help would be appreciated. The stock one is pretty much junk.

Here is a 20T Robinson pinion gear, unless there is another type.

Tony, you're right. Should have checked your site. Am properly chastised.

gtfour93, the 20 pinion in the link you provided is for a 48 pitch pinion. Unless I'm really wrong, these don't work in a Mini. The Mini uses a metric pinion which I was able to find at Tower, so Thanks for trying.

The Robinson pinion is well made and has the advantage of a stronger set screw hole and is less than half the cost. The Tamiya Flourine coated pinion lasts but eventually the set screw threads give up.

I am not 100% sure about the 48 pitch and metric info, but I'm sure there are a number of Mini gurus who can set us straight
