Great to see that Mini racing is alive and well in the "land down under". I wish that was true here in the US, it will get real popular for awhile then just go away for a few months:( Cheers, carry on!

New stuff for Minis from Tamiya,
This one is interesting, OP.1216 60D ファイバーモールドタイヤ タイプB (2本) Type B 60D tires? http://www.tamiya.com/japan/news/new...col=3#calendar |
What is part 54224? The discription translates to
Arumibatterihoruda OP.1224 M-05 light The words "M05" and "Light" seems exciting. EDIT! Its a battery holder, so neither interesting or exciting. On the Shizuoka show list I've also seen a Swift bodied M05 Rally which seems interesting (any prototype pictures?). And the old Skool Fiat 500 gets a re-release which continues the knock out the M chassis body moulds we have laying around theme from tamiya. |
I had a chance to speak with Fred from Tamiya USA & David Jun at the Tamiya track 2 weeks ago and we discussed this new 60D Type B tire ot tyre depending on were you live in the world. Its going to be a tire similar to that of a sedan tire but for the M Chassis of course. I am told its going to be an ideal tire for that of a High Temprature track or region. Its due out end of May which probably means 2nd week of May for Asia and 3rd week of June for US. I am excited to get my hands on something that will hopefully give a new cometitive twist for the Minis.

Hex width set ups
During winter carpet racing 6mm hex hubs have worked well. Now with summer season starting we are moving outside onto asphalt.
There seems to be alot of tarmac experience here. What is the effect of going to thinner hexes on medium grip asphalt? Is there a recommended size? Has anyone any info if 1 or 2mm thinner fronts than rears helps cornering? :sneaky: Thanks  |
spare body for M04L
Hi all,
I'm trying to pick up a spare body for my M04L, but am having a heck of a time finding anything....I've searched ebay, online stores, etc but it appears that since most of the M04L bodies are discontinued, its hard to get a hold of one. So just a couple of quick questions: 1) Anyone have an idea of a online store to look at? 2) I can find m03L bodies (mini coopers)...would one of these work? 3) Anyone have a spare M04L body that they would like to sell me? Thanks Steve |
my M03R mini is currently with 11.5T brushless set-up and using 20T pinion. after running, i feel the motor is still cold. probably still under geared. and i feel it could give out more top end if geared appropriate
i would like to lower the FDR but i know we're limited to max 20T pinion. i'm currently using this tire: http://sweepracing.com/?p=274 if i use the touring size rubber tire: http://sweepracing.com/?p=232, would this help out on my top end? t-i-a |

Sure you'll gain more top end speed!! Make sure u re-check your ride height and temp as well. Bigger tyre might not be a better choice than mini tyre. Handling wise you'll need to test different set up on touring size rubber...
will probably play with weight placement for chassis balance also and servo settings. got my front diff almost at spool effect. |
