I transfered my M03 shocks and did some ackermann changes. The box stock ackermann was not very aggressive during the turns. The car had a tail that was much more planted, less fighting with the car.

Hey Leonard, good to hear you can get yours out on the track. I'd like to do the same but rain, wind, thunder and lightning is the weather here at the moment. With no letup expected until next week!
I'll get some indoor action with our car tonight but that wont tell us much....
I should fly up to Sing to test..

OK I have been playing around with a rear diff from a Tamiya Dark Impact. The fit is almost correct. Obviously the plastic gear in the centre is wrong but a replacement gear for a 3 racing M chassis diff is a perfect fit. Now just need to find smaller diff balls to suit. The diff has a bit of left to right movement between the chassis halves but that may be able to be spaced out. If I can find something that is close with a first try there must be someone who can manage to find one even closer

Kail,
What ackerman change did you make.

Calvin.

TA03 ball diff works fine as per the M05 manual.

The TA03 diff is an old design , both poor quality and heavy. Imagine putting in a diff something like a TA05 or 416 diff. Lighter , spools up quicker etc etc
The fact that Tamiya is using a bearing carrier in the M05 shows they are ready to use a diff with the standard 15 x 10 diff support bearing

I see!

It would be nice to see a ball diff that you can adjust without having to take the chassis apart like you have to do with the TA-03 diff currently.
