Aah. Gotcha.
|
From the release listing for the Shizuoka show..
* 1/10 RC M-05 PRO chassis kit AND.. * 1/10 RC Mini-Cooper racing (M-05) |
Does anyone happen to know what the TCS maximum rpm rating is for the silver cans?
I know they've gone to an rpm based system now, rather than amp rating, and that they've banned the Mabuchi motors because they're "unmarked" as compared to the Johnson. Jim |

What be this?... :weird:
http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...kawadam300.jpg It's a Kawada M300GT. Why have I posted a picture of it? Dimensions - w/base 210 mm - track 160 mm Hey that's the same as an M03.... Yep sure is. Basically a modified 1/12th scale (like the Tech DD/M) that takes mini wheels. Check out the width on the rear though! Lots of details on the chassis here: http://www.rceasy.com/2007/11/20/kawada-m300gt-2/ |

And now....the review you've all been waiting for (cue drum roll or trumpet fanfare)..
Finally the WORLD FIRST (as far as we know) drive test of the new HPI Switch FWD Mini chassis. http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...i/switch-1.jpg What's it like? Does it live up to the hype? As always our unbiased viewpoint. Check it out HERE now! |

As always our unbiased viewpoint. Check it out HERE now! i thought my minis steering had a lot of play in it whan i first built it but it actually drove loverly is there any perticular reason for the steering to be Vague , random ,unpredictable i guess it's just a matter of waiting till the M05 and pro version come out |
One of the guys at our club was going to get a Switch to try in the Mini class and evaluate it as an alternative to the M03. I think that's probably not worth doing now...
Hopefully the M05 will prove to be a good alternative. |
monkeyracing - At Trackside in Milwaukee the rpm limit was 13,500.

A shame the Switch has been a disappointment in the review. I also don't like the lack of room for electronics and how only certain lipos will fit.

Actually the Switch can take a far wider range of lipos than the M03. :D |
Greg is correct there. It's just that ones that most of us already have for our M03's won't fit! So, NONE of mine fit....
But more 'normal' Touring Car ones will. So you could put a 5000mah hour Lipo in and lose the will to live because the car would probably run for 30 mins - really, really slowly. Zzzzzzz  |

You are correct that Mabuchi's are no longer permitted in TCS silver can events- only the two vent Johnson 540J #53689 motors are legal this year. Even though I'm kinda sad that my wonderful four vent cans are banned, the two vent motors can still be coaxed into spinning pretty well. |

Already knew that. :D M03 can pretty much only take Orion lipos (not the bigger 4000+ mah)
Actually the M03 can take the Yeah/Core type 3200's Also can take the Intellect 4000 25C And the Acepower 4000 25C lipo And of course the smaller Orion lipos |
