Double Stuffing
I only double stuffed Tamiya 60D's. I used a Sorex C firm insert complete against the tyre and then used a Tamiya firm foam insert. It takes a bit of practice to get it to sit right.

I have my Transponder mounted on the side of the rear chassis facing out, just behind the battery mount, opposite side to the motor.

Pity you guys won't be running this week. I can't wait to do battle with you guys next weekend to see all your speed secrets, specially you Caltek1

I haven't heard of that brand of tyre, so I can't help you. However, I run old style Rides 3030 front and Pits rear on my Mini. I also use Pits front and rear at certain tracks. I am still to try the new Rides.

I did abit of painting but Jeffs the man now. Im playing mind games with him as Im so jealous of his 416. I want one of them Im so excited to be back racing.

Just a head's up to anyone else who might make the same mistake I made with my Mini.
I wanted to get some slop out of the hubs, so I've been using single, very thin, teflon shims on the axles, before they're inserted through the bearings. This has worked very well until now.
I noticed that there was a teeny bit more I could tune out, so I thought that maybe 2 very thing teflon shims would do the trick. It seemed alright at first, but once the car ran, and everything settled into a groove, the front hubs were almost completely jammed up. Bearings got a little messed up, too.
Don't know why, but it happened.
As for the other slop in the suspension. Don't bother trying to tune it out. I did for quite a while, and discovered that it can actually hinder your car's performance. I'm running what I would have thought was a sloppy suspension now, and the car handles very well by comparison.

And... I've lost count of the amount of times I've told people not to bother doing things like that to 'take out the slop'

What other springs besides the Tamiya short spring set are being used with good results on the mini's?
Brands, types and rates would be nice to get a good impression on the possibilities.
