The R has adjustable links in the rear, but not in the front.

not sure if this has been discussed before but I'm curious if anyone knows the main differences between the new Mini Cooper S kit and the older Mini Cooper kit? From what I'm seeing the New kit comes spec'd out like the Swift with bearings but I'm curious about the "resin monocoque" chassis and wondering if the car is the same as the Rover M03 (short car) which i have already. Are all parts interchangeable and can you convert it to different wheelbases with the the chassis extending pieces? Thanks for the input.

Pretty sure the New Mini Cooper S is riding on a M03L chassis. And yes you can change the wheelbase by changing the chassis extension piece or removing it for the short wheelbase.

And all M03 parts will fit the new MCS.

Does anyone know where I could get a HPI Rover Cooper body? Tower says that they are discontinued.

Some other places have them online, too. They're getting more for them than the Tamiya ones, though. Don't ask me where to get tires. Those sources are seriously drying up.

The last ones I got were from RCBOYZ. They were about $17. They are a good source for Mini stuff.

Don't panic, the tire situation is getting better.

RP's are now back in production, Pit Shimizu's back on line soon, Type A's already back in stock, and Spice shipments due again soon.

Ahh, huge sigh of relief....

What are the sizes and patr #'s for the turnbuckles and ball cups? What shockends are you using for top and bottom.

Excellent article, had us scratching around the spares boxes and plotting things last night. Thanks, need more like this.

Kind regards
Dave

Hey guys,

I noticed a while back some posting about the "ring of death" that occurs on the mini front tyres with the standard links, and if there's any way to stop it. Well, I thought I'd pass on this tip given to me a while ago.

Basically, you make some adjustable upper links for the front of the car
What you need are;
TAM53892 3x10mm turnbuckle shaft
TAM53662 TT01 turnbuckle tie-rod set

There's also another much easier way to stop the 'Ring of Death' on your tires...

Don't run 60D's! It only happens on them. The extra diameter messes the camber up causing the problem.
If you're running smaller diameter (Tamiya Super Slicks, or any of the other brands, Spice, RP etc) then the 'RoD' won't be an issue.
