Tamiya mini cooper

I have managed to fit the sacura lightweight steel outdrives to my 3racing diff but had to dremel 4 of the internal washers to get them to fit as the hole is 0.64mm out. The only other problem is they are for 4mm shaft cushions instead of 3.5mm. 3.5mm are working but have ordered some 4mm.

Has anyone heard from Monkey lately? I sent him a PM, but haven't received a response. I know he was having a rough time, and I've been thinking about him (especially since many of my recent posts were made while lying down).

Just assembled the 3racing oil gear diff for my M-05, just missing the oil. Still having trouble deciding what to go with, having seen just about everything suggested, starting from 5000 and ending in about 1 million. Don't have to much of a diff oil collection, 100k is still the stiffest I have.

Paint it yellow and put a driver figure in there that looks like Roger Moore in For Your Eyes Only

Should be fairly universal if possibly because I don't re-do diffs unless I absolutely have to. In summer it'll be asphalt, in winter... well, some sort of black carpet usually I think. I'm not so well-versed in the different onroad surfaces to know more accurately. Not very helpful, I know.
I did test-fill it with the 100k stuff, and I think I might just install that. It's so much stiffer now than stock that it could well be as stiff as it needs to be... I guess only trying will tell. I figure no need to buy 300k (like I planned to earlier) just to try if the 100k could be enough. It's not like it was undriveable with the stock diff either, just a bit "wobbly".

Nvm, indeed was having a retard moment (regarding what I posted about installation in this post before). And another such moment in that I forgot the needed 10x15x4 bearings haven't yet arrived so can't put the darn in place anyway.

You can also try Tamiya Diff Putty to lock the Diff.

I don't do carpet, just outdoor asphalt (Tamiya track). The stock 100k is too stiff. Car won't go straight nor rotate. I can get high 16's by mixing 7000k with the 100,000k stock stuff about 50/50, while the really good guys can get low-16's using I don't know what...

The TA06 ball diff does fit, but the new M07 gear diffs are smoother and last much longer. Ball diffs get "gritty" fast, requiring a lot more maintenance.
I guess I should have put this comment in the M07 forum...

How much power are you running?
Tighter front diff generally gives more under-steer on entry/off power and over-steer on exit/on power. It'll also give better straight line acceleration/braking.

Monkey is still in hospital. Doing better.
