Quick question for you guys...

...what is the best way to "stiffen" the action on a TA-03 ball diff I'm running in my M05? It is currently built per the directions but I would like to tighten the action beyond the diff nut being locked down.

The ofna diff lock lube is the only way to get a tighter diff with the current lock nut. If you try to increase the tightness of the nut with a bigger wrench, you will break the diff bolt for sure...

Break the TA03 diff bolt? You'll strip the pressure plate long before that would happen. It's a very large bolt.

These bolts are very small to me... I've broken a few grade 8 bolts under my Jeep, so I don't want to advise people to go at it all out....

They might be a relatively large fastener, but they're made from compressed spam. Also, being a hollow fastener, there's not as much bulk keeping the head and the shank together. I've never broken one while tightening, but I've stripped the threads and had one fail during a race.

You strip the opposite plate not the screw. Done it quite a few times. Alwaysz when using a nut driver with s handle. Best is to use the small Tamiya nut wrench that most of us probably have s few of these since they're included in most Tamiya kits.

Adding in a 0.2mm spacer (as you get with the rear axles) will help tighten it up
