Tamiya mini cooper

I got the blue (front)/white (Rear) springs for my M05 installed. And the v2 arms. Now I can really set the ride height. I should build that gear diff tonight too.
I'm starting to think I'll need to maintain a set of tarmac tires, and a set of carpet tires. The CA just disappears rather quickly the moment I get the thing out on my driveway.

Why are you running the bullet connectors? Tamiya plugs? I'd expect someone ~that~ deep down the tuning path would have addressed resistance. I also see you've chosen to go without the roll cage.
Tamiya sells a balance plate to add weight to the non motor side. You can also potentially mount both the reciever and ESC on the same side to help ballance.

It is surprising how sensitive the chassis is, 10g on a 1400g chassis is very small, there's less than 3g difference in the cross weights so in effect that's the amount you are playing with.
You can play about with esc/receiver placement, counterweight if fitted, (I run brass plates between the 3Racing bumper and the chassis which give 15g-40g more weight up front and over the drive wheels) . The fine tuning is then done by adjusting the individual spring heights, 1/4 of a turn in one shock collar will make a difference to the weights on all 4 wheels.

Today I got to see the ALL NEW M-07 Concept and test drive it.
One, this thing does not drive like any Tamiya M-chassis before it. It drives like a touring car. It's precise and it completely has a direct feel. Two, it design is just like the TA-07. It's construction and ease of assembly is very evident. Accessing the diff is simply done by removing the bottom of the gear case with 8 screws. The sway bar attachment is very similar to the TA-07. Once you set it correctly to your liking, the setting won't change when you need to access the diff of the car. The designer is very proud of that tid bit.
Internal drive ratio is 3.1221
You can choose the following pinion 06 module sizes: 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24. With a 24 your final drive is 4.813
I have pics, but can't post until the first official day of the show.
Remember, the kits go on sale worldwide on June 25th!

Xxxx - Ignore post, I wrote the wrong thing - oops

So when 24 relates to 4.813 then:
17 6.79
18 6.42
19 6.08
20 5.78
21 5.50
22 5.25
23 5.02
24 4.813
Looks like that with the most common used 20T pinion the gearing should be the same.
We will see the final result.

Agreeing.

We need to thank Fred for getting us the info we really wanted...that whole fdr thing was doing everyones head in waiting to find out what it was going to be

It wasn't doing my head in, I still have an M03 and a few round packs that are only slightly puffy ... although having to undo only 8 screws to change a diff instead of the 10 screws on the M03 does have some appeal :-)

Yep, I think I'll just skip straight to the M07. Although reading that an M07 drives like a touring car is not good news for me, I want a mini to drive like a mini.

Well, this was good news to wake up to. Thanks Fred!
