Ball diff with ceramic balls and ofna diff lock lube: no maintenance needed....ever.....
It will start supertight, and then will loosen up a little to give you the perfect setting...

Spent a little time making a fan mount for my motor this weekend.
It isn't pretty but it works great. The air is now directed fully at the motor. An issue I ran into trying to mount directly at the end of the motor was that it was awfully close to the front tires when they are turned fully ...there was only a few mm's of clearance. I was afraid that could rub with a little vibration while running. So I went for this angled mount.

I think I am going to run w/ this at this next weekend's race. If it does well I plan on making something a bit nicer looking.

Eric, that screw that's holding the mount on, did you have to use a longer one than normally?

I did use a longer screw. The only one I had that would work required me adding that spacer so I didn't have too much thread going into the chassis.

This works, its all very tight and secure and the mount doesn't vibrate or bounce around, its rigid.

Like said though I can certainly make this prettier. I am going to race this next Sunday ...i'll be measuring temps as well. If it runs cooler than how I had it previously mounted (and like most people mount it) sitting straight up then I'll revise this desig to use the correct length screw and some better type of mounting bracket that looks nicer.

..my hunch is that this is a much better design. Turning it on I can feel that all of the air is directed right at the motor whereas before most of the air was just hitting the ground and not getting much of the motor.

eR1c - That's a neat idea. Sometimes I position the fan facing opposite of the part that is being cooled to pull air away. This way it would not obstruct or create turbulence against the incoming air from the front.

Yeah, I've done the same ....sucked air rather than pushed it.
...do you think sucking the hot air away would be better than blowing air on the motor?
..guess I can just try both ways and measure the difference.

Almost 2 months had passed, but I finally finished the twin blue body today for my Sabre4WD Mini.
Even drove the SabreFD Mini today. I used the NiMh I charged back in mid-Jan. Still had some decent charge in there.

Sabre4WD Mini on the left, SabreFD Mini on the right..

Anyone run an M-06? If so, anyone else have a problem with the motor mount just cracking?

Shorter and slightly wider than a standard M. I wonder if they'll do a longer chassis plate, though. The width isn't as much of an issue with aftermarket shells and this could essentially be a carbon M04, since it's mid motor.

EDIT: Spoke too soon. Looks like M Versions and full size version are in the works.

Huh, it would be kinda funny to run the Suzuki Jimny bodies on it.
