[QUOTE=sosidge;14025811]First rule of RCTech Mini thread is that Granpa is the big dog. His word is law. And if you disagree, he will passive-aggressive you to death.

Hence why I don't waste my effort posting on here any more. Thanks to Granpa, I choose to keep the secrets of my championship-winning cars to myself, because if it isn't relevant to his track and his preferences, it isn't relevant to anyone else either.[/QUOTE

Some guys really hold a grudge. Why not be truthful here. You stopped sharing your "secrets" when I called you out on some BS you posted on how to measure side to side play of a TA03 diff inside an assembled chassis. It's too bad cause you're pretty knowledgeable and if I'm the cause, my apologies. If you post something that doesn't seem accurate, I don't mind entering a discussion with you about it.

That's the difference between you and I cause I will share the stuff I know. I also don't brag about my racing successes------you don't stay competitive into your late seventies without knowing a trick or two, however.

You also delude yourself young man. There are no "secrets". The championships you've won are due driving talent and superior tuning techniques. Everything you and I know put together, is something that is known to others. That you choose not to talk about it, doesn't make it a "secret".

Another point, I will disagree and argue, but will respect your point of view and will do it with courtesy and respect------until you choose to be rude or disrespectful. If you'll recall I was never disrespectful to you and was polite in my arguments.

My bone of contention with Sakadachi is not that we disagree, which is perfectly acceptable, but the form in which the disagreement is voiced. You're from England, so you should be aware of the proper form. Perhaps the problem lies in the fact I'm from a different era and courtesy and form were more respected. With that being said, feel free to post away and share your secrets. I won't comment cause that seems to cause you great distress.

My last words on this crap cause I'm too old and sick to waste any energy on it.

I use some banter and joke around to keep it entertaining, but it is never out of disrespect.

I honestly think you are reading my posts wrong. You are the only one on the internet (I visit car forums all the time) that has a grudge.

Like the face I used about Windex. It wasn't towards you, it was towards the fact that it leaves behind blue residue. I know cause I use to use that to clean stove tops and appliances. That blue is hard to remove after it's dry... hense the (towards Windex as in 'what the hell, Windex!'). There are much better products out there for glass cleaning which I am absolutely fine to share.

I was just kind of surprised how discrete modelers were using off the shelf products like Windex which gives me a window of opportunity to offer my knowledge.

You know there are MANY modelers out there that play with RC for their own personal enjoyment. I want to contribute to those people.

Racers can talk about the mechanics, etc. That's great info. I like reading about those stuff and applying it if it appears to be something that could benefit me as well.

I'm not going to just shut up because there's a bully here.
I must have read your last pot wrong. I'm sure glad you were just joshing and bantering and were only trying to be entertaining, cause you could take that the wrong way. Certainly glad that you didn't mean it, but you can understand how that could be misunderstood.

I don't hold grudges at all-------I like entering into sensible discussions and on more than one occasion, have had to admit I was wrong. Especially with Howard Cano. Smart man that Howard. I profited then cause it gave me more knowledge. Instead of holding grudges as you claim, I just move names from one list to another, then never give it another thought.

fellas fellas!

I don't care how many championships you have won, or lost... I don't care if you're 15 or 70 years old. Keep the language and the banter down to a low friendly roar... stay constructive and on topic. If you don't like each other, please mutually add each other to your own ignore lists.

This is a mini-cooper threads, for goodness sakes! Why all the nasty-ness?

Lets move on.

Completely agree and understood. I will try to make my funny easier to understand for all ages with captions.

Now back to Mini Coopers, my favorite RC car if anyone hasn't noticed already.. (This is a joke).

If we should ever happen to race together, and you need me to move over, remind me you said this!

All of us are wrong at least occasionally, myself included. My wife reminds me of this... constantly.

Indeed, and if it's the same Howard Cano that I've seen pop up elsewhere, then he's quite talented with musician gadgetry as well. I want to say he's been mentioned in the same breath as Devo. Maybe... probably the same breath as Jim Mothersbaugh anyway. Am I right?

As far as Tamiya Minis are concerned, my M-0x's are all collecting dust (our club doesn't have a separate class for them). Might have to pump some life into them somehow. Any word of an on-road version of new Tamiya MF01X chassis?

Funny, I've seen him mentioned in the same blurb as Justin Bieber.

I've not seen that yet, but I would definitely be interested if that ever takes off.

Right now I have two 4WD chassis with the Rover Mini body on. But recently with the addition of my rubber liners for my track, my V2 has been excellent to drive. Maybe not as fast punching out of the turns, but going through them have been extremely rewarding. <= can't wipe this smile off my face each time.

If everyone will forgive a quick digression, I had my moments: In college I made a special Ring Modulator module for a huge "Wall of Wires" Moog synthesizer belonging to my Electronic Music professor, Roy Pritts. He liked it so much that he wrote a piece with it, that he later played with the Denver Symphony Orchestra. And Ed Shaughnessy played one of my electronic drum sets with the Tonight Show Orchestra.

I'm not as young as Bieber, but I am still a spoiled brat.

Wow that's great stuff. No that big of a deal compared to your achievements, but I've had my music aired on a commercial radio station in my youth. I still have a cassette tape recording of the airings which I've been meaning to transfer to mp3 for the longest time; then remembered, I don't have a tape deck any more! I play keyboards and compose music as a hobby in my free time. Not as much these days, but I still pretend to play piano. (I am not a pianist)

I'm glad to hear we all share similar talents outside RC. Music is a big part of my life too (as a hobby that is).
I just like building things all the time.
