Yeah Racing and Tech Racing both make shock tower reinforcement plates, but you dont need them.
We didnt have a single breakage all day. Only a couple of stripped gears and that was it.
These cars are as tough as anything!

Does anyone know if the Mini can take a 27T motor? I'm not talking about the silver or black can. I mean a regular motor such as a P2K, or Monster. I'm just wondering if the gears can handle it (stock). I'm not too concerned about tire wear or handling. I also have a LRP IPC Sport ESC so i'm ok with the ESC part.
I'm asking this because I run in a standard Novice class with 1/10 electric TC's. There's usually not enough people who run Mini's so they just stick me in there. I'm tired of people passing me on the straights, but I still want to run in that class, since the Mini is so much fun.
I know I will probably need to upgrade to bearings, and I'll probably get some soon, so that's fine.

We also run on the local cycling Velodrome and when we go there we run 12 turn motors in the Minis so the gears will take a 27 turn motor easily.
But...you'll struggle coming out of the corners because the 27 turn will generate a whole lot of wheelspin. You will get extra top end though.

You want to use the 16T pinion. That would give you a 7.25 FDR.

With a 20T it's 5.8:1, quite a long way off what you're looking for.
Dont forget though, your wheels are a lot smaller in diameter than a Touring Car so you need a different FDR (lower numerically) to them to achieve a similar speed.
