Steve, I'd suggest S grips and any setup at all. That should work fine on pretty much any kind of paved surface.
Thanks, RC Doc

Tower is supposed to get them in "late June", and at $114.99 not a bad price. If you bring it up to $200 total order, take off another $25. I'm waiting for them to arrive to get one myself, along with an extra body at $37.99 (same late June date) and a couple of other accessories.

Thanks, guess I'll wait for Tower to get them in. -Ky

We run handout motors at our track; new out of the box they pull 0.9 to 1.1 amps with no load, after significant use they can get to 1.4amps no load. I don't have a good way to measure amps under load, however I suspect it's around 3 amps given they way the battery recharges.

I was wondering what would happen if you disconnected the motor from the esc and hooked it up to the motor checker or dyno and put the car on a slick surface, held on to the car and let the wheels spin. Might get a close approximation of actual amp draw. Just a thought.
