I posted my M05M set up a few pages back. I've run it on outdoor low grip asphalt, indoor hi grip asphalt, and on carpet. It worked on all three surfaces with only minor adjustments. There may be better set ups, but it is good starting point. It's still a work in progress, but you can just throw it down on any surface and run competitively.

Speedtech is where I usually start and have always had good service with absolutely no problems. TQ RC Racing has the widest selection of Mini tires. I've placed a couple of orders with them recently and their service was really good also. There may be other sources out there, but I'm loyal to the local guys.

They use different side plates on the diff (alloy in the M05 diff) . Theoretically the FF diff is narrower and should fit in but you would need a large number of shims. far easier just to get a M05 diff

Did anyone measure the Sakura gear diff between the bearing shoulders? I need a narrow diff for a project.

Are any of you guys running the M05 NOT using a tamiya servo saver? I was looking at that kimbrough others are using on their M03s but I'm unsure if that'd work ok in the M05. I'm going to be heading to the hobby store soon.

I'm running a Kimbrough on mine with no problem. I couldn't give you a part number because it was one that was laying in my spare parts bin.

Does it look like the one I have pictured or is it a narrower one w/ just one hole?

I am using the medium length servo saver with the middle hole.

Thanks Cannon for that info. I might try the FF gear diff coz I have a couple of Sakura diff laying around and I assume the internal gears and diff out put cup are the same, so I just need the FF casing.

Any of you have tried modding the M05 batt slot to fit a rectangular TC type lipo batt? Can you post a pic of it?

Thanks.
