M03 bumper will have to be custom fitted, because I need the body to also fit with no mods whatsoever !!!!

Has anyone seen results from the first day of racing at the TCS finals? Really curious to see how things have been affected by the new, very strict, handout motor rules in the mini class.
FYI, for this race they've set up a handout system where you go to pre-tech, get a motor, install it right there and race. After the race the car is impounded and you uninstall the motor at post-tech. No oil, motor spray or comm drops allowed. Stock bullet connectors and wire...wow. Should make things interesting. The fast guys will still be the fast guys, but the rest of the field might tighten up. |
Too much control !!!!! Control esc / tire sauce ???? Maybe they should all run the same bodies , same radio settings , same servos, etc......
|
Yeah wow that much control is CRAZY! Isn't part of the sport and fun being able to tune your car and hopefully get the edge over your buddy? Or just being bored and curious and wanting to play with your car? That's a lot of freedom being taken away.

It's about spec racing. I support the move wholeheartedly.

Can anyone please help me out with this?
If I use short springs that are smaller than the stock springs, do I need to use a bunch of those clip on spacers so the shock isn't compressed at all? I'll be using my stock Tamiya TA05 oil filled shocks. |
You need to put spacers inside the shock to limit the travel.

What type of spacers would I use? Do I put them at the bottom, under the shock piston? |
I put then under the piston. I've used rubber "o" rings or plastic spacers, just so they're the same thickness. I'm sure other drivers have ideas.

I think you can start with two on one shock and then adjust from there. It might take three.

Oh okay. I know I have some left over o rings. I'm guessing you only need to use 2 or 3 of them?
|
Can't wait to get started on that!
Thanks MD and Scoop |
