Neato! Silver! Stuff!

All sarcasm aside, I do like the transponder mount thingy. Good place to counterweight the motor. Also, don't you sometimes wish that the chassis were all done in a lighter colour, so when you're doing assembly it didn't look like a shapeless, depressing black mass? (must be time for my meds)

Could you educate me on what kind of tape is it?

#54000 M-Chassis Shocks

Hi guys,

Got another question for you Mini experts.

I'm building the shocks for my M-05 PRO, I'm using the #54000 M-Chassis Shocks.

My question is how do you set droop in these shocks? Do I use rubber o-rings or are there proper plastic spacers? And I assume that whatever I use to adjust droop is placed between the piston and the bottom of the shock body?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Is anyone using a Gens Ace hardcase lipo in an M05?

None locally so I can only buy on the 'net. The photos of the 3500 and 4000mah are difficult to make out if the case is rounded enough or more of a square.

I've emailed vendors with no success. Thank you if you can comment :)

These fit.

If you are talking about these:

hobbypartz.com/98p-25c-4000-2s1p-hardcase.html
hobbypartz.com/98p-25c-3500-2s1p-hardcase.html

Yes, they fit both the M05 and M03. I have both of them.

I use the strapping tape described a couple of posts back to put the battery at the right place because the wires protrude on the side of the body when using the normal battery mounts.

In a recent race (which only silver can motor was allowed, open esc, lipo was allowed), my M03M was set up with a silvercan motor, Futaba M330CR & a lipo 3300/25C.

Unfortunately, my car was so slow compared to others.
I have no idea what esc the others were using.

Any recommendation on what esc to use???
(I was told that the Futaba M330CR is not power enough).

Right now, I am thinking of using TP-M8.

What do you guys think???

You have a PM

Thank you very much :):) this is such a great thread/community

Any preference between the two? I notice the 4000mah is slightly smaller/better packaged.

The 3500 has a smooth rounded shell and no wavy bumps under, just a bit lighter and hobbypartz has it on sale now for $18. I only bought it because the 4000 was out of stock and I was impatient.

I'd get the 4000 again because it's a small difference in price and additional run time. Also the wavy bumps fit the chassis holes on the TA05 and TB03 battery side if you have those RCs.

Had to solder dean's/t plugs to both of them though, they came with the bullet plug type.

There's also a hobbypartz coupon code for 5% off, "hobbymodel".

Hobbypartz coupon

It's expired! Anyone have a picture of the Gens Ace 25c 3500mAh battery on their M-Chassis, with the body installed? I want to see how much the wires make the body bulk out. I was also thinking about getting the Intellect stick pack w/bullet connectors, but I'm not sure if the M-03 quick release battery holder will clear the bullet connectors. Can somebody chime in on this?

monkeyracing 05-26-2011 03:41 PM

The quick release battery holder won't clear bullet connections in batteries. You could use the quick release at one end and a regular battery holder at the other. I've done this before and it worked well.
