Foams T.C. and asphalt?

Hi guys, i have tried running foams on asphalt and they just didn't cut it for me (was drifting most of the time), some guy told me that traction compound didn't help any when running on asphalt, is this true? will TC help when running on asphalt?
thanks

Depends on the track surface conditions. If it's pretty dusty it won't help. We run on a clean, fairly abrasive lot and compound helps alot. I've found that Paragon, Zip Grip and Zip free make the car feel a little "greasy" at the start. Trinity RED DOT provides the most traction overall, but still feels a little bit greasy up front.
This weekend we tried Spashett's Tangerine Tyre Tack, and so far, it's the best thing I've used on asphalt. It dries very quickly, and dries quickly, provides excellent grip, and is locked in from the sound of the horn. It also has a very low key scent.

You also have to keep in my mind that there's going to be a limited amount of drift on an asphalt surface in any good set-up. Otherwise the car is too locked down and won't carry corner speed. That's been the hardest thing for me to come to grips with since I stated racing outside. I keep trying to drive the car like I'm on carpet.

Hope this Helps!

Something that helps big time is Simple Green degreaser. Makes rubber or foam very sticky on any compound, in any weather.

Just wipe some on and air dry. I use it at every outdoor event with great success.

Good Luck and Happy Motoring
