You should look at 1k for a rear diff, 10K is way to high, you will find the rear end will just swing out

CB...use the kit supplied 900 wt in the rear. you will be very pleased. most racers at my local track run 1000wt the only guys running thicker are the mod guys and they run btwn 1500 and 2000. I run 1000 in my spec r diff on the rear of my ta05v2,17.5 rcgt class and I place mostly 1st or second (not to brag). i did not notice a difference btwn 1000 and 1500. at 1000 the car drives well and i had to go up a rate of springs all the way around to limit the chassis roll when i switched to the gear diff so the wheel would not lift on sharp corners.white hard ft and rear. we run on a high traction outdoor track(see village raceway thread in florida fourms) the tao6 has less roll which is why I am assuming tamiya used the 900wt. Stay under 1500 and you will be a happy racer you can see my car and setup in the v2 fourms.

hex heads for the titanium screws. Tamiya does cross headed screws separately in packs of 10 etc

I could resist the price (good value for money) and the design is so unique. The use of front & rear gear diffs takes me back to when I ran nitro a couple of years ago.
I am very keen to test it up against the "expensive" chassis's in 21.5 spec (non timed/boosted). I am quietly confident it will be very good.

Time to order the screw set.

Received my '06 yesterday. Will be finished later this morning for some testing at Cal tonight.

I will be posting a picture filled step by step build on the Track Star site and keep y'all updated on the progress of set ups for this car.


Initial set up will be:

8K front diff
1K rear diff

400wt two hole shocks with yellow springs all around.

17.5 non ramp with Fantom 3200 40C

Sweep 30 or Solaris (H) to start.

Tamiya '08 NSX and HSV-010 bodies.

you sure?, people are beating their lap times with a bone stock ta06 vs. their setup 05 and TB03s.

Been building my car slowly. It is taking a little longer than expected since I had to transplant the suspension from my old cars. the center belt seems rather tight, but it should loosen after some breakin runs. What's with the diff screws. I think that black coating on the screw made it really hard for the hex wrench to get in. I used an exacto to carve that black stuff out.
The steering system is solid. None of that slop from the older cars.

btw, I hope tamiya sells the outdrives that comes with the diff unit II

I had the same issue until i use a Tamiya .5mm allen wrench and it was a perfect fit. Go figure.

If I'm correct 70 compares to 700 (very light diff oil very thick shock oil). I use 650cst much more shock oil and was told it's similar to AE or Losi 65.
