I think TAmiya would do well to connect with Grand-Am and/or ALMS/LMES and work out marketing deals with them. It would open up major opportunities for them to market to teh enduarnce racing crowd as well aas bring new bodies to the RC world that look like the real life racecars (something that is lacking in TC racing today but that is another discussion for another topic entirely)

At the turn of the century, Tamiya had several sports prototype bodies available for its pan car, Toyota GT-one, Porsche GT1-98, & Audi R8R and Cross even had a Mercedes CLk-R. At about the same time Protoform had its Porsche GT1-98 and I'm sure there were several others I don't know about.

I think the popularity of the TC's had something to do with the Sports Prototypes not catching on, but now it's a different market.

24 Hours of Daytona is today. Lets get some 1/10th and 1/12th scale Grand Am Rolex series bodies. I remember back when GTP was popular we could get a new racing body for every car style - Jaguar, Toyota, Porsche, Intrepid, Nissan, Peugeot - they were all great even if they might not of been the greatest handling bodies.

I don't think you will get a DP body to sit right on a car...

But what about the GT cars? Porsche 911, Mazda RX-8, Dale already makes a G6, Mustang GT, Ferrari 430, and throw in Vettes, Vipers, real cars that people want to run.

And just what the heck is a Mohawk???

Hey Mike you coming out to race?

I agree with jiml. I think the GT bodies are the way to go. People can relate to them and some may have a real one. There are alot of choices out there for GT bodies from vipers to vettes to RX-7s,all the way to 350z and more. I really enjoyed painting mine up. I spent 2 hours making it look identicle to my real car. This was the most fun i have had in years in the hobby. Then i got to race it.

man.. I would absolutely love to see a DB9R, Mosler MT900R or Maserati MC12 available.

I already own a Pagani Zonda F that's sitting on my yokomo chassis and I'd like some more cars to add to my collection.

I have Maserati MC12 on my 1/10 pancar chassis.. I think it is some Italian rc bodyshell producer...

But i wish to have more Le Mans Prototypes cars... The best of is Porsche 962 by Blade Racing.. But very rare to buy..

There are already a lot of beautiful GT bodies out there. Saleen, Corvette, Lamborghini, McLaren, Porsche, ...

But most drivers use this ugly TC body, paint it with flames and tribals and leave the rear wing unpainted

Unpainted rear wings are an epic fail in my opinion. I think you shouldn't be able to race with a clear wing.
