Default What's the hottest EP touring car at the moment??

hi all, i usually hate these kind of threads but coming over from GP so i'm forced to start one. I'm looking for the hottest 190mm TC on the market for 6 cell BL stock and above and price is no object. So far I've checked out the xray 008 which i consider a VERY nice piece of kit, the serpent s400 which i prefer because i have have as soft spot for serpent, and the TM E4 which looks the best of all because it has 3 belts like my MTX4R... if only mugen made an electric

i know corally and tamiya also make pretty competitive packages, but i've yet to get a look at either of these. Your input is appreciated

p.s. this is for concrete racing on a medium sized medium grip track with rubber tyres

Check out:
- Tamiya TRF 416
- Hot Bodies Cyclone (WCE)
- XRAY T2-008

You may also want to check out the car from Corally (phi).

I don't think that you can go wrong with any of the top cars. Everyone likes to say "get what the local fast guys are running, and your LHS supports". We've got a couple of Serpent drivers and the car is beautiful and very fast. I still think there are some problems with the car that Serpent is trying to correct. I've heard alot of good things about the 416 (and the 417 coming out next month) JK. If money is not an object, the PHI is doing pretty well on the track and offers amazing adjustability with option parts (hence the deep wallet) I'm sure the '008 will be competitive when they release it, so it's really up to you to pull the trigger and get the one that you want.

Doesn't matter if you know which 1 is most popular.
It depends what country you are, what brand of car and parts you could find on your HS and what kind are using the people beside you.
I don't think you want to have 1 car which anybody around you haven't got, if you break something during the race session then you haven't this spare, how could you fix the problem? Should be a troublesome!

TRF416, Cyclone and MR4 TC BD could be the best choice if you are in Asia/Oceania, you could find easily a lot of aftermarket parts which are made in Japan; for Europe/America, could be fine also but more expensive due the high rate tax and difficult to find parts.

TC5, Mi3, T2-008 and S400 could be fine in all of Europe/America but not so much in Asia, in HK and Korea are still acceptable, but in Japan will be a little troublesome with its expensive life cost.

I would think that what kind of surface you race on would make a greater inpact on which car to choose.

Carpet surface the top cars based on results are the Xray and the Corally

Paved surface the top cars based on results are the Tamiya and the Hot Bodies

The Serpent, Team Magic, Associated, Schumacher, seem to not eccel in either side but cross over from one surface to the other way easier which makes them way more versitile.

This is just my opinion.

It depends what you like: belt or shaft, brand, your own experience with cars.

constructive effort DH. I can drive fine and i know nitro but haven't raced EP for 10+ years so i dunno what cars are out there. If you have a problem with the thread, don't read it

thanks for everyone else's input (hah i just got the burning car joke), to answer some of the questions i'm in australia, and parts support for all the cars is pretty good here, especially xray and serpent because the club is run by the aussie distrubutor so most people are running t2's in one guise or another, and the corally is the other popular one at the track. not sure about PHI, I haven't heard of them but that might just be because i've only just started looking at EP.

it's more a question of what's winning the events at the moment, if one car has had a big impact straight away then that'd be the best place to start IMO

Have any of you given the TOP racing Scythe a look???

I'm one of the Team drivers from Australia, and after reading this thread i thought i'd give it a mention here.

The car is absolutely fantastic, it was very different from what i was used to, formerly racing Xray's for 6 years, hence the title.

Parts are cheap, the car is strong, and most importantly of all its a real performer. I'm yet to hear from ANYONE who has driven this car that was not impressed.

Look it up at www.top-racing.jp , or www.rcshop.com.au ... links are in my signature.

Cheers,

Robbie

hey i did check out the scyth but have opted for a T2 007 EU which i'm getting at a bumper price (my mate is selling it to me, it's virtually brand new) and chose mainly for the trackside support and top notch quality
