Default twisted servo wires

Hey guys quick newbie question ....at the races im seeing a lot of guys with twisted servo wires....r they doing that themselves or r those certain servos that come with wires like that .....and whats the reason for twisting the wires?

It's just to shorten the wires. You can either cut/splice, cut and re-crimp or just take the easy way out by twisting the wires around a small diameter object like piano or regular copper wire or even the antenna tube/mast.
