charger for A123 cells
Can anyone recommend me a charger that charges A123 cell. I would like to be able to charge a 5S pack.
How are the Hyperion chargers? Anyone have them?

A123 batteries are for flashlights and cannot be rechargered since they are nickel/zinc batteries or did you mean 2/3 cells like the Intellect 1400mah cells? If they are the 2/3 cells they could be charger with every nimh fast charger. I Charge mine on 2amps. Hope this helped you.

Sorry i dont know of a charger that charges 5s batteries.
But i suspect you might find useable info here: http://www.rcgroups.com/batteries-and-chargers-129/
I'm extremely curious about this technology. Unfortunally i dont think i will be capable of fitting this babies in my current car.

I use a Astro Flight 110D and a Dapter. I'm charging 4s & 2s. That combo will work fine for 5s also. Don

Hyperions charge A123's. I recently bought the 610 and IMHO it's the best charger on the market today. it does not have a discharge function...but who needs a dischrage function for LiPo's or A123's!?

Hi, the Dapter is available from Model Electronics Corporation for $40. They also make a neat product called a Solderless Power Tube. It holds the cells together mechanically in a stick configuration.( no soldering) The A123 cells hold their voltage very well and don't need to be balanced very often. If you use MEC's SPT's you can break down the pack in less than 2 minutes and balance cells individually. Don
