not only speedpasion but also some other brands using hobbywing ESC. Some US and EU brand only change the product name and painting their own style.

From what I have found ..... Hobbywing is the manufacturer with Speedpassion (GT)and Venom(Pro Brushless ESC) both sourcing their products from them. Hobbywing do have there own branded ESC available as well although it may be more difficult to find in some places.

Being made in the same factory doesn't make them all exactly the same but they are likely to share some components and operate in a similar way .

Before saving a few $$$ remember to think about the after sales service if something goes wrong on the ESC. From reading the other Speedpassion thread I can see the folks at Schumacher USA are getting right in behind Speedpassion and are very helpful to all questions asked... I don't know too much about Venoms service so someone else can say if they are the same.

There is definately a difference in quality of some of the components used for there own and OE versions.
The SpeedPassion is using a much better quality fet than Hobbywings own esc.
Cant speak for Venom though.

No it's not. I have the HW one and it seems to be very simular, but the HW version will handles more lipos. Speed Passion also chaged their ratings and if you look at the website you can see that they have the same amp rating as the HW one.

Just posting new info here:

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXUMA6&P=7 ($229.99 complete system)
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXUMA5&P=7 ($169.99 just the ESC)
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXULZ5&P=SM ($74.99 just the motor)

Now if the complete system is 229.99-74.99 for the motor then the controller comes out to $155.00. It seems more realistic then what Schumacher is selling the Speed Passion GT. Even at $169.99, they are still cheaper then what the Speed Passion GT is being sold at. So again why did you guys buy the GT at that price, I don't know, but the GT will drop in price if they still wants to sell them. LOL.

That diserves a "WOW" factor for the greatest excuse ever.

I know Shawn Palmer and I know Schumacher USA. Speed Passion is doing a lot of development of the motors and Speedos right now. They have stuff in the works that will take months for Venom and HobbyWing to figure out and copy.

I will buy from the guys working the hardest to make the product fast.

And...Schumacher support is second to none.

Speed Passion is not the manufacturer. They are a distributor. HW is the manufacturer and you can see that buy the photo in http://www.radiocontrolzone.com/show...52#post2319652. I also spoke with HW and they said the same thing.
