Be allowed for VTA racing? Sorry, nope.

I didn't think it would work in VTA - seeing as it looks like a Castle Creations Sidewinder (albeit much more expensive) with their 5700kV motor. It's an excellent system (I put one in my wife's drift car, and I use a Mamba Max 5700kV in my drift car), but I didn't think they were equivalent to a 21.5 or 17.5.

but there's nothing saying that, with a little bit of creativity, you cannot use that esc with either a 17.5 or the 21.5

the 17.5 will work without the sensor wire..but the 21.5 would require the sensor-end to be swapped out - I've seen that done before where someone had a sensor-less esc and want to run the 21.5, so he just swapped the ends and it worked fine

Sounds like a lot of work for very little return. I'll just stick to using my Havoc for VTA and my Mamba's for everything else (drifting and rally).

My original comment was more directed at the concept of HPI offering a VTA car, with VTA logos, hyping it up, and then not offering a car that has the correct specifics for racing!

I would think that with that much power, one would need plenty of spare parts.

The other thing is I wonder why the car isnt available in a USVTA spec. It would be great if it came with a Havoc sys, and a trimmed but unpainted shell.

Had a blast racing today !! Thanks VTA for a great class. With some work and the great people we have now we'll make this club grow and VTA will be the primary effort.
This was only our second time out and we're still getting things together but all will fall into place.
One of our guys took some pics which will be up soon as he can.
Hope those who came out enjoyed themselves and can see we have tremendous potential.
This was by far the most fun I've had on track in a long time.
THANKS RACERS AND THANKS VTA !!

I'll get pics up as soon as I can - I have to correct the pics still and that always takes time. I've still got pics from the drift sessions I haven't posted!

I only took about 40 I liked, but they got repetitive as PJ was the only one on the track for the longest time. So here are 11 that I got.

I didn't realize it until I got home, but I shot the action shots in aperature priority instead of shutter! I'll get more next weekend.

Nice Photos Had a good weekend at our track for T/A. I hope the class can grow to the popularity of sedan class (13.5) its nice to be able to compete to run in either the A or B-Main but still a blast either way

I really had a good time too - and those pics came out fantastic! Thanks for letting me know that you guys were starting this - I only wish I would be around for longer now that there's finally racing on the Space Coast. Oh well, at least there's RCGT next week and then May!

Thanks, Dino, for putting this together and it was great to meet everybody.

Well, next weekend, I'll take some earlier when more people are on the track. I was just in a rush to get home and snapped off a few while I could. I definitely prefer the action shots to the stills. R/C cars are meant to be driven.
