The Javelin body rocks! I had my friend, http://ldpaint.webs.com/ Looped, paint a Protoform J71 in Red/White/Blue. It is the best looking VTA car at my local track!

By the way, the Protoform J71 Javelin is in a close 2nd place. Click here to vote on your favorite VTA body now.

even the TCS is allowing the x-drive GTB2's - so hopefully it'll only be a short wait for the x-drive ones to get approved by mid-next week, i'll have one of both - the x-drive for my TCS GT1 car, and the non x-drive one for VTA (until the offical word is out )
I put a gtb 2 x drive in my f1 and love it. It looks like Novak is pushing the edge and the new club for vta though. I'm not so sure the x drive will be approved any time soon. It does have an advantage over the other escs on the list.

The red white and blue javelin is a replica of the 1971 champion javelin so no im not tired of it either. I kinda wish more cars had true replica paint jobs. Our track is so rough on bodies that most guys don't want to spend that much time or money on a body that lasts two months.

Most Novak escs on this list are no longer MFG or RMF by us, although, they may be available used.

its not limited...if you find or have one of the listed esc, like the AI LRP, its still legal...but AE/LRP disc this esc long time ago...but you can still get them at HS...Dirla got 2 real cheap

also I dont think the Xdrive will have any agvantage other than being more smooth in the throttle, given a better and faster corner speed...imo..

case with me and the Citrix vs GTB2...Im faster with the GTB2 cause the the GTB is smoother....same with the Tekin and SXX...Im faster with the LRP, cause of the smooth throttle...

the Citrix and Tekin feels like a light switch...and harder for me to drive...

Shaved 0.2 off my best lap in my f1 with the x drive. Also lowered my average laps by 0.1 to 0.2. It really is a nice speed control but that's where the problem seems to be regarding approval. It seems to out perform the other speed controls so the playing field would no longer be even. It will be interesting to see how things progress over the next few months.

GTB 2 Racing ESC with X-Drive
Product #1749

GTB 2 Racing ESC with X-Drive - LP
Product #1748

Novak Club Sensored Brushless ESC
Product #1852
This is a very misleading post. The X-Drive ESC's are NOT VTA legal currently, and the Club is not yet available. That leaves 1 currently produced ESC. Just because these are "spec only" ESC's does not make them legal. I understand Novak wanting to sell stuff, but this is the VTA thread and the topic currently is VTA legal ESC's, and making posts like this convey a very distorted message.

Everything I have heard about the X-Drive, as well as everything Novak says about the X-Drive, is contradictory to that. It has been reported to be faster, and Novak markets it as such. Novak I am sure would love to hear it, but if it becomes legal, I am going to go buy one, and yes, for the purpose of going faster in VTA, so we don't need to rehash that whole thing.

Your comment comparing the Novak and SP is also very different to me, as my experience was the exact opposite. Without having the min throttle adjustment like the Novak's, the Cirtix feels signifigantly smoother to me, but less punchy...exactly like the LRP/Tekin, but for me, the Novak and Cirtix are reversed, and that has been the same feeling from those that I have talked to as well.

The only way to level the field and get closer racing is I believe to put a cap on the fdr, say stay with 4.0 The other way is to put a limit on the c rating on the lipos used in vta. 25c-40 c no higher. jm2cents

Has anybody tried using on of these HPI #104815 Inner Body Sets as a driver figure in their VTA? The description says these drivers are for the 1/12 scale Mini Trophy truck. Does that mean these drivers are smaller than 1/10 scale?

I think a FDR limit would make things worse. Not all motors are created equal. With a fixed fdr how many motors do you need to buy before you find the fast one?

They work great. a little duct tape by the window and under the hood and they stay put. Also they don't interfere with the chassis or wiring.

yup - just a little battery tape on the door and across the hood and it works
