Adding 21.5 ????? Why ???? The old VTA rules allowed 21.5. The change to 25.5 has created definite growth in the class. Allowing 21.5 would simply be a step backward. We have USGT if there's a need for more speed.
I see you're in Florida. Feel free to come up and see us sometime. We're the oldest club in the county and have been running Official Rules VTA the longest. For a while we were the ONLY club in Florida offering VTA.
I'm down here in broward county.....will have to make it up there sometime! trying to get a little thing brewing down here in south florida...kinda wish there was a way to contact roar members in my area to feel out interest!

I have about 5 or 6 bodies sitting in my hobby room, and all of them have rub marks on the inside of the hood. J71, Pegasus Mustang, HPI Camaro, all marked up.

Just set it up like you think it should be and it will sort itself out.

Backordered tires are starting to ship now.

21.5 is in the past, it's all about the 25.5!

You guys seen this yet?

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...-ROAR-Approved

Seems like they got this specifically for Trans Am. Bonus for me and other Dean's fans is that it's got the right connector ready to go. The marketing lingo seems to be aimed squarely at the Gen's Ace never-in-stock batteries from Hobby Partz. I already cross reference the ROAR approved list and it is on there by part number. Nice job A-Main!

I was actually just looking at these yesterday. Thinking of picking a couple up for me and my son as back up batteries

What he said

http://www.usvintagetransam.com/rules/index.html

Essentially, anything you can't hook up to a computer and adjust the timing.

I've used the GTB, Havoc and Cirtix... all great and you can usually find a good deal on them used.

Personal Preference here as I like brakes is the Novak Mongoose. Way more braking ability than the old GTB

Same here, as popular as the Cirtix is I'm still not 100% convinced that it actually has brakes. We've had better luck and prefer the Novak stuff (in VTA at least.)

as far as the Cirtix - out of the box, the brakes do suck and give you nothing more then a 'gentle' nudge of the brakes...but once you hook it up to the programming box, you can actually dial in more brakes..

I was hugely disappointed with mine, in both my VTA and F1, but after hooking it up to the box and dialing the brakes all the way up (i think they default very low - not looking at it), it has VERY good brakes - at least in my F1, I can locked the wheels up and stop the thing now

the gtb2's are very nice for VTA - that's what i replace the cirtix with

I was impressed with the gtb 2 as well. Just be sure you don't use the x drive. I don't think its vta approved.

that is true - however, the non x-drive ones are starting to show as discontinued in a few places so it will only be a matter of time before they will (have to) be allowed, or else the GTB2 might have to be removed

even novak is replacing non x-drive GTB2's with x-drive GTB2's as part of their exchange/warrenty replacement program (novaktwo posted that a few pages ago)...

even the TCS is allowing the x-drive GTB2's - so hopefully it'll only be a short wait for the x-drive ones to get approved by mid-next week, i'll have one of both - the x-drive for my TCS GT1 car, and the non x-drive one for VTA (until the offical word is out )

I am not sure who keeps asking," Aren't you tired of seeing the Javelin in the red white and blue paint scheme?" and I have to reply that No! I am not tired of it at all. We need at least one at every track.

Would not be suprised if this one was painted by Doug. Does anyone know who painted it?

I have to agree with this. We've had a few Javelins at our local track but none of them has had the red/white/blue paint job yet.
