Man I feel stupid. I did not realize there was any adjustment there on my GTB2. I think everything was reset to the default after I did the throttle epa settings and yes I am running a spool.

Our upcoming Club esc is really One-Touch and Go!™:

The Novak Club ESC features Novak’s newest breakthrough for the club racing market: One-Touch and Go!™. Simply complete the One-Touch programming and the Club ESC is ready to run! No adjusting, tuning, or customizing.

Novak has taken input from our team drivers, racing customers, and our test team to select one of the most universal, throttle profiles to date. This means you have nothing to worry about or tune on your ESC. Novak has done all the hard work for you, and has customized the ESC for optimal non-timing spec or “blinky” class racing.

I am running an fdr of 3.93 and timing one mark from being maxed out on a 96 x 40 track and it feels as if my punch is lacking and my top speed is close, but not quite there. Any advise or pointers would be great. THANKS!

Have you cycled your battery packs to check the IR? Have you checked the numbers on your stator to see how close or matched they are? Have you dyno tested your motor and then dyno tested at each tick mark on timing to see where it performs the best?

Sorry 429 completely using you to mess with some of the others on this thread.

I will tell you on a 70x45 track I am geared at 3.4 FDR, single large Novak fan pulling heat away from motor taped to chassis (nothing attached to motor) and temp is about 145-155 after 8min race.

Late March. The Club Combo 25.5T has a 'street price' of $119.99.

I think that the price point and simplicity of our Club offerings will be great for getting new customers into spec racing.

Agreed! This is what I want to pick up for the new vta ride I'm building! Did the VTA guys clear it and add it to the approved list, or will that happen closer to the release date?

Hey no problem, I am used to being used like a guinea pig lol. Cycle lipos I will not, did not know there were numbers to match (haha) and dyno not so much! From the sounds of it maybe go up one more gear and turn up my minimum drive a little bit as well or turn down timing and crank up the gearing HMMMM!

+1

Especially since the startup costs involve buying a (new) motor/esc combo at 3-4x the price of a used TC3 chassis . This is something I would definitley buy when building my third VTA for my younger son as its price point places it comfortably within reach of families/racers on a tight budget.

Ok, Picked up a TC4 to run our local VTA class. I searched this thread, I searched the TC4 thread, and searched on line, and can't seem to find a good starting setup for the TC4 chassis. Am I missing something? Anyone have a link to a good starting setup?

Thanks,
Rob

I run the FT TC4 but similar setup

First if your track low traction or high?

My Setup

Front

Blue springs
35 wt oil
stock pistons
2nd outside hole up and outside hole rear
-.5 camber
4 degree caster blocks
.025 shim under the trailing a-arm block
2nd from longest upper camber link 2mm shim under ball stud

Rear
silver springs
30wt
stock pistons
second from inside hole up and outside arm
2.5 degree toe in block
.025 shim under forward a-arm block
Longest upper camber links with 1mm shim under ball stud
-1.5 degrees camber on worn tires but fresh I use about 2-2.5 but I have to play with it to get the traction I want

Our Track starts off low/medium traction, but has pretty good traction by the main.

Thanks for the setup. I did plan on running those springs and 35 weight oil all around, but will pick up some 30 for the rear before racing Saturday.

Thanks again for a starting point.

100 spur / 50 pinion gives you a 4.0...any 50% combination will give you a 4.0 which is a good starting point
