I'm running AE Silver (14.5) up front and AE Gold (19.5) rears on a basically box stock Sakura Zero S.

Track is 80x50, tight and technical track. Lots of 90s and 180s. I'd say traction is medium, but we do blow off the dust, no sprays.

We've found that on a tight track like this, we really need the weight to transfer to the front to make the turns. We run a fairly high drag brake to get the weight to transfer, make the turn, then accelerate out.

One key change i did make was to raise the height of the rear, inner camber links. That helped with rear traction in the middle of the turn.

14.3 to 13.9 can be bearings to the push....how much do you dope the front tires?

Thanks. It is against convention but I can see it making sense with the tires. For clarification, do you mean raise the rear height, and change the camber links? Running a xxx-s. My camber links are at their longest setting on the shock tower. I could still go to the outer position on the hub, though. Or add a shim under the ball stud. Any thoughts / tips are apreciated.

XXX-S???

You should contact Evoracer for his setup. And check out the thread he started for XXX-S stock setups. His car was smooth...

I looked over the manual and i guess my suggestion, if you go with the softer front springs, is hole 3 or 4 and go with B on the rear hub.

Then again, Evo can set you straight. You can still find some XXX-S setups on the losi website though.

Good luck!

I've been running significantly harder rate at the back of my car, but I'm also half a second off pace to the fastest guy. I've been running 17.5/30 in my JRXR.

We have talked back and forth a number of times . I might see if he has something for me with this car. I had it on rails in the GT class but switched to VTA and it wasn't even close.. worked out a setup, by the end of the night that had me running top 3 but I was fighting it too much. For sure think drag brake is needed. Thanks again.

Sorry, missed this the first time. I was running the fronts full. I could run 2-3 cars behind the fastest guy then at the 4 minute mark it started to jush push too much.

I went to the XXXS for stock thread to try and find you some help. First page I came across this
http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...lasses-17.html

Check out John Stranahan's comments about "push". It might help and comes close to what you were asking about regarding softer front vs. back.

Here's a video of Saturday's VTA A-Main at Mike's Hobby Shop in Dallas TX. This is the track that is hosting the 2012 ROAR Carpet Nationals on March 16 - 18: http://youtu.be/LJYF4XZ-G5U

On what chassis ?? Generally, most VTA folks are using around 4.0-4.2 FDR. Bigger tracks might be in the 3.something range.
