I ran my first VTA race this weekend, did well but was still 2-3 10th's of the pace of the first two cars... I had this car dialed for GT but I am quickly learning VTA is a bit different overall. Brand new tires, seemed to get better with each run but they are still lacking some grip... car is a push machine after the 4 minute mark. So my first question is on spring rates- Any of you guys running lighter up front vs. the rear? The fastest guy of the day seemed to be doing this, that is what I noticed after a quick glance at his car in the pits. This goes against everything I have previously learned. sorry I haven't followed this entire thread (probably bringing up really old topics)... but anyways I need to get this part figured out. Also considering going to a lower roll center in the rear, I was getting it to break loose coming off the fast sweeper. So if anyone has some pointers on springs, I would appreciate it. Hi traction asphalt. Thanks in advance, having a good bit of fun so far with it.

very cool idea - but I already have the driver from the HPI trophy truck in mine he gets headaches from racing since he head rests on the roof, but like he says - all pain, all gain

chris was referring to a race this coming sunday where we're running full USVTA rules (finally), just not requiring a driver figure..

but then again, come to think of it, the USVTA nationals didn't exactly require a driver either - if you didn't run one, you got a silly sticker on your body (big whoop of a penalty, if you ask me)...so based off that experience, a driver is never really required

Default drivers

well the Hello Montanna sticker might have been pretty bad...

but if you show up at the 2012 USVTA+ Southern Nationals in Music City, USA...without a driver..I want be giving them away this year.....

for the pole position quals, my 4 year old gets to take your car for 5 laps..lol, and since its her tradition to be in Chi for the Scale Nats, Im talking to Eric to let her bust the block with some cars up there too...

get a driver figure

Anyone care to take a quick swing at this? Need some help for my next round. Thanks.

I heard that the euporeans were doing that. 2.8 front and 3.0 rears on xray or something like that. not sure how it would work with getting consistant rear traction or traction rolling but on pavement it might work. carpet not sure.

Thanks. Yeah oddly enough the fastest guy had an Xray. His best lap was a 13.9 to my 14.3, his car was not pushing like mine at all.
