You get a trophy for BQ but I have never seen anyone be happy about it. So Monkey is right BBQ is better than BQ. You dont try for BQ it just happens. There is a reason its shaped like a screw. Dont quote me on this but I think you qualify 10th and have a chance of being bumped out of your main by another driver. Hence the screw. I really am not sure exactly how it works.

Most likely busting my VTA cherry this saturday . High grip indoor asphalt. If anyone has some traction compound preferences / treatment process, please let me know. I have tire tweek and sxt 3.0 in my pit box. Also simple green for cleaning between runs. This particular track tends to produce grip roll by the mains, but again I have not tried a VTA type setup on it yet.

Due to the smell of Paragon our carpet track only uses SXT 3.0 and have plenty of grip letting it soak for 10-15 mins. I usually clean the tires with a solvent between rounds but did try full strength Simple Green and by the end of the day the tires were too soft and sticky to the touch ( they also had and extra long soaking of SXT for 45 mins). So only use the Green to clean when you need extra grip. Diluted Simple Green 50/50 with water may work better but for now back to my trusted solvent cleaning.

Do the rest of you out there use the same glue for your sidewalls as you do to mount the tires. I mean do you use the super thin CA or do you use the thicker stuff for sidewalls.

On carpet I simply omit the traction compound from the outer 1/4 of the front tire. That takes care of the traction rolling for me.
