I love you too Ian

Obviously you don't have a taste for how much fun this is if you are willing to abandon your VTA build just because the ESC you like isn't legal. There are other options for about the same price point as the justock. The Citrix being one.
Im still hoping Tekin will purpose build an ESC for this class.

Yeah, our small track is a blast! We run a 6.9 FDR to keep the speeds down.

I agree. There is the speed passion option but Novak seems to be the only one actively supporting this class by offering different products that fit the rules. If you want a new manufacturer in the game perhaps you should contact them and encourage them to build am esc that fits. Novak makes a great product and I have been very happy with mine.

I have begged Tekin but I never have seen a positive response from them on that. VTA is just tO small of a market to build an ESC specifially for that. And for other ROAR stock classes they have their blinky mode.

I wonder if that is with the fan and wires? I would say weight wise it is comparable to the Edge. Both are excellent quality.

Wires are differrent for every set up. For that matter there are multiple fans available that may have different weights. Its best to quote the weight and dimensions of the unit itself w/o any peripherals.

Justock claims:
Quote:
59g (Cooling fan NOT included)
So with our Edge 2S weighing in at 19.5g, the weight difference is pretty significant at @40g!

Some USVTA racers needed a controller much smaller than our Havoc 2S or GTB2 size---so we now have our tiny Edge 2S, which is the same size as the Mongoose---but we added three of our newest esc features:

....Built-in diagnostic temperature monitoring that lets you quickly check the ESC’s operating temperature at any time
....On-board Hall Sensor Test to easily and quickly verify that the motor's sensors are working properly
....NovaBrakes™ provide smooth, controlled and powerful brakes under any condition

Snoopy is correct; we weigh/spec our controllers with no wires because racers install different lengths of wire. We still solder our wires onto the controller, rather than just tossing them into the box....

Default Brakes!

I'm looking at possibly replacing my ESC for one known to have strong brakes. My GTB2 brakes are very weak, possibly due to an accidental reversing of polarity the first time it was hooked up to a battery. It seems to work fine otherwise. What ESC's are you all running that have good brakes? Also, how strong are the brakes on other GTB2's out there?

Out of curiosity, does the reverse work?

I'll have to check...it has been disabled for a long time due to racing rule.
