Questions??

I have re-phrased my survey question. If there is a VTA Exhibition Class offered at the 2012 ROAR Carpet Nats, and the rules are exactly same as USVTA rules, then would you travel to Dallas on March 15 - 18, 2012 to participate in the VTA Race?

Fuck yeah, but I would race other stuff to. I have this old JRXS-R which would be great for VTA. What is the process to sign up, do you have to qualify from your regional or is it a pay-to-play event?

That's a good question. I will ask one of the ROAR Committee members and I'll post the answer here when I get it.

I can tell you ROAR will be changing their rules to align more closely to USVTA (25.5 motors for example) but there will be some differences. I don't know when the new rules will be published.

The Novak 25.5 is the only motor allowed in the National USVTA rule set. I might add that Novak makes a strong motor so it may actually be the best one as well. For ROAR VTA events you currently can use any 21.5. I suppose after the rules are revised they will go to any approved 25.5.

So the best answer is Novak 25.5.

The only legal motors are the Novak SS 25.5 or Novak Ballistic 25.5.

Hey DesertRat, I received an answer from the ROAR Committee. The 2012 ROAR Carpet Nats will be a pay-to-play event. No prior qualification needed. Just pay for the entry fee and ROAR membership and you're in.

Survey question: If a VTA Exhibition Class is offered at the 2012 ROAR Carpet Nats, and the rules are as close as possible to USVTA rules, then would you travel to Dallas on March 15 - 18, 2012 to participate in the VTA Race?

I see no advantage to running a bigger pack when I am only burning out about 1100 mah of power, so it should stay fair no matter what size you run. Or we could go for smaller packs with the same capacity. They would be easier to strap into some of the older cars with room for wieght.
maybe up the mah limit then. sometimes easier to find 5200,5400 etc

time will tell...my Reedy 5000 are still getting it done...but I can see the issue in new racers looking for a good 5000 pack with a "trusty" name...or favorite brand...

I went to Reedy after the SMC fell off, and a 5000 wasnt around...
