Try http://www.gearchart.com

Make sure to turn you sound off if you are using this at work. Just was shown this link today and it is web based.

There is a benefit to knowing different car's gear ratios in that you can setup 2 different chassis with the same FDR even if running brushed.

It's a downloadable .xls file.

I'll have to find a machine that can open it. I don't use Excel.

We need some HTML geek to turn it into code for a webpage.
Then download www.openoffice.org, it is free and will work with any MS program

Hate to ask dumb questions but i just want to be sure that an FDR of 4.3 or higher is not allowed? Or is it the other way... 4.19 and lower is not allowed?

Correct, "gearing up" from 4.2 FDR is illegal.

how equal is the 21.5 with the FDR of 4.2 to a 27t brush? or does it depend on the track?

That FDR was chosen to offer the most even speeds on most tracks between all motor options. A strong 27t brushed motor will have more rip at first, but flatten out over a run, where a 21.5 will remain the same lap after lap.

Just 3 different ways to get from point A to point B.

I think the 21.5 rolls through the corner better. A great chassis and style is still key, but the motor is flippin' awesome and really compliments the package.

That and a 4800 lipo, I foresee 45 minute enduros......

Oh yes, for anyone in the IL/WI/IN area (or further if you have the $$$),
Strictly RC's 1st Annual Asphalt Assault July 26-27 2008 will include Trans Am.

http://strictlyrc.net/forum/index.php?topic=412.0

They are getting a nice turnout now, so the class should be well supported.

at our track(parking lot) we use the 4.3 fdr for the 21.5, the 1 or 2 brush cars run around 5.5 fdr and the lap times are with in a tenth or 2 of each other. A good driver drove my brush car and beat us up, I drove it the following week and finished third. A lot is still the driver.

Since we can run lipo/21.5 I assume we can run 6-cell 4200/21.5 correct.....I love this class....
