The Hobby Shop in Dayton, Oh had eight in the VTA class today. This didn't include two of the regular racer that didn't run today. I can't wait to get my VTA ready to join them next week.

Default Favorite VTA ESC's?

I would like a few people to sign off which VTA legal ESC's everyone likes and why:

Lowest Voltage Loss?
Interesting Throttle curves?
Punch?
Lightest Weight?
Smallest Footprint?

I've tried 4 different ESCs and my favorite by far is the Speed Passion Cirtix Stock Club. I've also tried using the GTB, Havoc 2S, and Mongoose.

It has so much punch when I squeeze the throttle. There are no programmable throttle curves to worry about. I learned that you can change some of the drag brake settings, but you need to purchase a separate programming card to do it. The Cirtix also has a smaller footprint than the Novak GTB and it weighs less too.

I actually have that speedo in another car... Hmmm....

Do you have to run it with the fan when your using it with a 25.5 motor?

Jeff,

Do you or does anyone know why the GTB2 is a better speed control than the Havok?

Unfortunately, I am not going to be able to make the Southern Nationals. However, I am going to try to make all of the Hurricane Series races, and maybe Snowbirds.

You can compare the stats to all of the Novak ESCs here...
http://www.teamnovak.com/products/es...spec_chart.htm

Main difference is that the GTB2 has a lower "on resistance", the Havoc Pro has the same but will be more expensive. The Havoc 3S can handle up to 3 cells. Then there is the Mongoose...... I think if you are only going to run 2 cell Lipos, the GTB2 or the Mongoose would be better the choice (I just bought the GTB2 for VTA).

I'm using the speed passion cirtix now. I was using the old Novak gtb. I liked that you could adjust the GTB without buying a card unlike the speed Passion. But the only adjustments are for brakes, and that's what the boards are for anyway.

Thumbs up

Mike's Hobby Shop in Carrollton, Texas was interviewed by NBC news to get the word out throughout Dallas/Fort Worth and surrounding areas about Mike's awesome, one-of-a-kind in the U.S.A., R/C racing facility.

according to solara, you don't need the fan for 25.5 motors - or even 21.5 motors for that matter
