Do you guys run 2 hour enduro races??? I just replaced my tires after a year of racing. Not because they were totally bald, just thought it was time for a new set.

Not my experience just something I read.

As far as spoilers go it would be great if someone would make aftermarket spoilers for the shells that don't have them. As far as home made ones go, I was thinking about a pencil rule. Make your own lip spoiler from heating sheet lexan with a heat gun and then bending it to the angle you need. Attach it to the rear deck of the shell. Set a wooden school pencil on the base of the spoiler and the lip cannot extend higher than the width of the pencil. Just a thought.
Im not a big mustang fan so not sure on if they actually had them on 1:1 or not. Kinda think its part of choosing certain bodies. You get 1 with or without a spoiler. I do know that a mustang can be set up REALLy good....look at TCD's car. Always runs a mustang body and look at him race lol

Default New to VTA

Ok guys sorry if this as been gone over time and time again.

I just got a TC5F and want to set it up for VTA races. Mind if I pick you brains to get started. Best set ups? Motors? Hardwear? Tires? From what I've read the body is just want ever you like(65-74)?
Forgot to say I'll be running outside on blacktop parking lot.

Thanks

Motor and tires are class dictated in the rules. Set up, a good start is the stock rubber set up and adjust to your style from there.

I don't think so. They aren't USVTA legal. On the very first page of this thread there is a list of approved bodies plus all the other class rules. It's a fun class, you will love it.

Not saying any body is better then any other, just in my case there was a significant difference when just switching bodies.
You are correct about the spoiler. It does have a noticeable affect. For example, if you are using the HPI '68 Camaro and lose the rear spoiler during the race, the tail end of the car will be a bit loose/have over-steer. A quick adjustment to the setup will correct any handling issues.

I do think if you have a good base setup it will work okay with all available bodies. Fine tuning will be required, but I feel that I've have to work more on setup when running different tracks than when switching bodies.

I think a large part of the problem when i switched bodies was being set up for the 70 camaro with its over size and parachute effect as TCD put it lol.
