yeah Im thinking of retiring from pegasus bodies. I have 1 more unpainted im debating on painting or just switching to the 68. Granted I was the reason for alot of the damage but still they are really thin and weak.

yeah they are very disappointing, i had a big fish that was painted by someone else. one race and the whole front end fell off. those are stupid thin. i honestly want to know what they were smoking when they said it was good enough for the market.

Finally got to weigh 2 of our cars today at LHS. Cyclone needed 111 grams added and my TC5 needs to lose 40 grams. My TC5 has a manutech brass lipo plate. Only thing i can think of to drop to "fighting weight" is to drill out the holes in the brass plate to try to get rid of the 40 grams (basically 20% of the plate).

ditching the plate all together but then I have to buy another bracket to keep lipo from sliding around. I used 1 of a buddies plates and it was fine except didnt have the lips and the battery slid into the belt....and I had the thumb screws cranked so battery strap was bending.

Drop the battery strap, use tape, keep Manutech lipo plate. Seems like the inexpensive fix?

IDK if this counts as a legal driver figure or not, but I just had to do it.

Yeah its cool. I drilled up to 1/2" holes into the plate where it already had holes to lose some weight. Hopefully I got there. or I dont know what else to do lol. Might end up having to lose the strap lol.

Don't fret the weight. My VTA car is around 1600g's and does just fine. The heavier the car, the more muscle in those tight side by side racing deals

yeah i was close to 1650 so lost some stick on weights that came on my chassis and drilled some of the plate out. But I see your point lol...in a shoving match the heavier car will prevail....in most cases.
