:
Is your LHS custom painting them in gold Thats a huge ripoff. Seriously, $85AUD for a body Asia to Australia shipping must be expensive, or your LHS likes large profit margins.

Hope this is not to far off track
in Australia we used to have what i think is similar to trans-am racing.
it was a mix of home grown and imported cars (now its just home grown v8 racing)
the biggest race each year (still going) is mount panorama at bathurst
it is a 1000 klm enduro.this is a public road shut of for racing once a year.
last year they ran the touring car masters there before the big race.
here is a bit of footage (there is more on you tube if anyone is interested)
you mite spot a few cars you recognize

He's quoting a special price before tax. When they are on the shelf they are ~$25.

I have never seen them before tax for much less than $22 a piece on the BEST days. That's a pretty special "good guy" discount. $16 a piece sounds pretty close to the wholesale price before retailer markup. Sponsored by the local hobby shop, maybe?

We just released our Ballistic 25.5 motor to our distributors, both domestic and international. (the 25,5 wound stator replacement has been available for some time) For those international racers interested in USVTA-style racing, our motor will be available soon. You can PM me if you are interested and we can see if regional distributors can stock them for you.

Of the 6 VTA cars that raced on Thursday night 3 of them have Ballistic 25.5 motors and the other 3 have Novak SS 25.5 Pro motors.

Here's the video of Thursday night's VTA A-Main... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYjZMHaOj3s

Here are pics of the Line-up...
