based on what i saw at the nationals, there were a TON of tamiyas TA05s and some 416

but anything can run and do good in USVTA racing - that's they point of this class...it doesn't have to be latest and greatest, sure the newest chassis get you better part support and setup for BL and lipo, but any chassis can compete

That is VERY good news to me. My son and I are running TC4's in touring and Vintage.

I just wanted to make sure , to not waste time on an outdated design. We will stick with the TC4's.

As of now , we are all running 17.5 and 13.5 ,house rules.

In the next few weeks we might go to the 25.5 motors.

What would be a good starting point,pinion/spur?

I am not sure the motor mount can accommodate the very large pinions I hear you guys run on those motors.

A 47/76 will get you a 4.07 FDR on the TC3/4's. You will have to dremel out some of the ribs under the pinion to get them to clear, couple minutes tops, and your good to go.
