Default 1970 Boss Mustang from HPI

This is the new HPI Boss Mustang Body. Mine is done with Faskolor paints. Final weight, with 5 light coats (3 color, 2 white, 1 black) came out at 4.7 ounces.

If you want to see more pics, there's a forum thread for VTA paint here:

Do you know anywhere they are running VTA on a track that big with 25.5?
95x50 carpet here at Thunder with A/C(thanks again Josh) with alot of turns ei Dirla work, and I can still crank out a 14.5, with 25.5...track size will not effect VTA racers that understand what true even racing is all about....

you get some VTA at your track and you will see.....

and have VTA will travel...lol..where is it located?

Any videos of competitive VTA 25.5 racing? I'm trying to get a feel for what sort of speed is typical for 25.5.

ps- before someone mistakes this post for something that is it not.... I want to see the speed before investing in the equipment for my 6 year old son.

Here's a video of VTA at R/CAR in Indy. We were using 21.5's back then so the now legal 25.5 is a little slower:

On a mid sized track, you may not notice the difference between an open FDR 25.5 and a 4.2FDR 21.5. We had a 25.5 win a B-main last year and only the scoring computer could see the real difference.

I wonder if anyone sells raw material that the front foam bumper is made out of on most TC chassis. It would be a wise thing to do to sell a block of foam that is just right for a cut down front bumper like for a shell that cuts it a little close or for the drifters that are always cutting the front for that plastic intercooler.

Its basically the same material the many swimming kick boards are made out of. Its called "EVA" foam. Expanded Vinyl Acetate I think is what that stands for. Its very tough stuff, but slightly flexible.

I've got about a dozen kick boards at home from when I used to work for a company that sold them. They were seconds due to printing errors on the logos. If you want to email me a template, I could cut some for you, or mail you a block and you can cut it yourself to fit. You need to use a bandsaw or scroll saw. A table saw binds it when it cuts due to heat.

I've got it in bright yellow, red and navy blue. 1" thick or 1-1/4"

Or, hit your local swim store and ask them if they carry kick boards. You'll see what I mean.

Parma sells a 'Block' for making your own bumpers
