Wow on the 3.26
Wow on the keeping up with 21.5 guys.
CA glue on the front sidewalls for the traction roll.

I'm pretty sure he's running on a 90X45 track. Same one I go to. Cept I'm one of the 21.5 guys.

HockeyDad, I was traction rolling like mad during the "postman" race, then just before the A main, Andy V. suggested I try just saucing the inner half of my front tires and fully on the rears. Car handled beautifully after that. I could run full throttle through the sweeper at the end of the straight. I'm sure I could still have rolled if I went full steering lock at full throttle, but it made the car much easier to drive hard. Something easy to try anyway.

thats sweet..and I plan on coming, BUT...couldnt we just have it 25.5 with ROAR esc?...or just make it USGT...I believe thats kinda of the end result with the USGT class after talking to "inside" ppl...a class that can be run at National ROAR events without alot of change...just asking....

not sure they had much of a choice - since it don't look like a provisional class, and roar only had rules on the books for a 21.5 Vintage Trans-Am class

wish tracks and races would just follow class rules to make it easier to go from track to track or race to race trying to run the same class without worrying whats being run different then the class rules

I think ROAR VTA is still on the last rule set. I may be wrong.

like i said, ROAR told them they can run the class...and if you look at the 2011 ROAR rules, the Vintage Trans-Am is 21.5 - and open 21.5 at that

No they are not...

I guess because they were never petitioned to have the class changed, but that's my assumption

We run a crazy mix most of the time for the slower TC chassis class. We have a few guys running USVTA 25.5 along with no timing 21.5 VTA, 21.5 boosted with VTA tires and 200mm shells and 21.5 boosted with 190mm TC shells and TC tires. It's a bit chaotic at times, but fun. Most guys race in other classes and the mixed class is just for fun and track time.

We recently had a larger race with just 21.5 non timing "VTA" and the few USVTA 25.5 together.

The fastest laps are
25.5 USVTA - 12.6
21.5 non timing "VTA" - 11.8 - My best 12.0 - 3.8 FDR

The fastest laps for the other classes that usually race with VTA
"GT2" 21.5 boosted w/ VTA tires & any 200mm shell - 11.2 - my PB 11.5 with a VTA mustang shell
"GT1" 21.5 boosted w/ TC tires 190mm shell -10.8

As a reference this is the layout. Unfortunately, no one recorded the VTA Amain. I didn't make the TC Amain, so I recorded it while marshalling. These 17.5s are getting low 10s. fastest is around a 10 flat

If I understand it correctly ROAR leaned on RobK for the set of rules that they are running now, but they simply have not gone through the process of updating the rules to current standards. They are just behind.

I might add that until the USVTA came into a position that tracks across the country are looking to them to maintain uniformity in the rules, ROAR was all we had to do so. So it appears that this is the first time ROAR has simply adopted rules from another organization and modified them for product neutrality.

Yeah man I was thinking that EA would be the guy to ask about this.

And Monkey- ROAR has to be product neutral so they cant require only a Novak motor. They can require a 25.5 wind. They cant require HPI Vintage tires, but they can require the dimensions of the tire which only HPI makes. I think its just a matter of not having it updated yet. Most big races lean on the USVTA and not ROAR anyway.
