Well that's just wrong !!! Have them get in touch. I have a few that work really well. Spent a lot of time searching for setup info and there's some sources they may have never seen.

Also 2 really good threads with lots of setups here on rctech

http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...k-classes.html

http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...n-mod-etc.html

And if they haven't been to John Stranahan's website....they should. Excellent info about setting up a car.

you're about 5 or 6 pages too late...

the (most probable) anwer is no...Which I believe Rob posted

sorry dude - I'd rather have another motor other then Novak myself, but right now, its a one engine (manufacturer) show...and that helps make everything level

I am not Rob, but I am pretty certain that he was not thinking anything like that. Its more like," Gee I hope nobody ask me to allow another motor into VTA today. I hope no one ask why we dont allow blinky mode speed controllers."

i can understand the speed controlors but i cant understand why motors you cant even take apart or change timing on are not allowed to be used

all the motors can be taken apart...the novak DOES have timing, which is adjustable...

bottom line - it ain't gonna happen, so just give it a rest

plus the novak's are significannt easier to get over the SP motors - which are difficult to trackdown

We'll do our best to soldier on without you. It'll be tough, but I think we'll manage.

I think he's lobbying FOR a locked timing, sealed brushless motor like the new SP.

The fact is, the motor rule isn't changing or opening up anytime soon. At this point, it's really pointless to keep asking about changes like that.

no, that's exactly the motor I knew you were talking about....

this isn't a fixed timing motor class - and as nice as the SP motors are, I love them in my 12th scale...but for this class - its the novak motor and that's it

not asking you to stop posting on the thread - just saying, the point of pushing for another motor just ain't gonna happen, so give that a rest...

No one told you not to post. They've only told you you're beating a DEAD HORSE. The rules are posted, either decide to participate or don't...no one is twisting your arm.

One-motor is NOTHING NEW. For DECADES if you went to a major race (pretty much anything "Regionals" or above and large non-ROAR races) you got a handout motor. Everyone ran the same motor REGARDLESS WHO THEIR MOTOR SPONSOR HAPPENED TO BE. It's how it was done, no sense pissing and moaning about it.

Folks whose experience in RC is measured in dozens of years (rather than dozens of months) have come to the (correct) conclusion that the best solution for THIS particular class is a single motor supplier rule. If that doesn't work for you that's fine, everyone here is free to choose where to participate. If VTA doesn't meet your needs there are a TON of other classes to go play in.
