Oh Man! McGreevy and Batman in the same place and time. That must be like a spiritual moment for VTA.

I am way behind but I would like to get into VTA. I have been looking for the parts to make my car VTA ready. I have seen the rules and regulations and what is allowed I am just finding that alot of the parts listed are discontinued.

Is there an updated list of what is allowed?

The VTA website is the same.

What parts do you need? If you are looking at Tower and it says discontinued, that means they aren't carrying it. It does not mean the manufacturer is not making it.

aside from a BL motor (novak 25.5 - either ballastic or SS Pro), Speedo (as listed on the website), you just need tires/rims and a body...the tires and rims should be readily available at most, if not all, online shops - or your local shop should be able to order any of them

nothing should be discontinued - if you're shopping on tower, do a search for vintage that should give you all the tires/rims that HPI makes

If you're looking for a new chassis instead of buying a used one, the Ofna JL10e makes a fine VTA car (that's what I run).

Amain, Tower and most others have them, run about $120.

Parts are cheap and the car is sturdy, except for the battery tray. Easy mod for that though.

See the thread: http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...a-jl-10-e.html

I am new to the on road and spend my days reading everything I can to try and catch up and understand. Thanks for the help guys and hopefully I will see some of you out there soon.

Here ya go Dill004. You can't beat the price for a vta combo setup but you can buy both the motor and esc separately too.
