Thanks guys! For some reason those the tires are super scarce to find in my area.

Zagar,
I just took the 9 that was supplied and cut the backend out to make the 5. I just saw a bunch of 6's and 9's already on the forum. So I thought I'd do something a little different.

It was hard picking a color combo that other's were not running yet. I had to mix my own colors.

I'd like it more without the orange octopus on the LF fender.

If you are looking for a number sheet similar to the ones used at the recent T/A Nats, send me a PM.

I found tires for my project on ebay. There were a few sets on there last week.

Default Decals etc.

Great idea in getting an interesting and fun class going, I hope it grows and becomes widespread across the country! I'm a midwest transplant from Toledo, now in SC for almost 20years. We tried to get a similar class going a couple of years ago, but it fizzled almost before it started. Now we're trying another round following your rules. Most of us have gone to lipo/bl in our oval and tc racing and hope to find an equivalency formula to allow them, but will start with 27turn stock and 4cell NiMH. Three cars should be ready to race Satlurday!!!

My question is where to get vintage looking stickers for both numbers and sponsors and also how/where do some of the guys get the prototype specific "sets" like the Gurney and Savage 'Cudas?!?!? I sure would like a couple of sets of those!!!

Also, the '69-'70 Mustangs. Oh yeah, I've heard of McCallister and Pegasus Mustang bodies but cannot seem to find any or any pictures. Any leads? HPI bodies are so great (scale) the Parma Mustang looks more like a dirt modified than a TA car. I hope HPI can be convinced to make a '65- '66 and or '67-'68 Mustang Notchback since the '65 and '66 they have now were not elegible to run in the TA.

If you can get me intouch, I'd sure Appreciate it!!!
Great Racing!!

aarcobra, the USVTA rules do allow the HPI Mustangs as T/A bodies and the 4 cell 17.5 combo seems to be a good match up with the 4 cell 27t combo. Several of us here in the Fayetteville, NC "club" will be using the 21,5 w/lipo and a fdr rule.

Hey Doug, will there be an addendum to the rules about LiPo batteries with brushed motors, or is this not ever going to be allowed?

Also, why is it that NiCd batteries are limited to 4 cell? I only have 6 cell..... Should I start looking for 4 cell packs?

Look for an addition to the rules for LiPos and 21.5 brushless late this summer.

Lower voltage, slower cars, lighter weights, less breakage = more accessible to a larger percentage of racers. Two 6-cell packs will make 3 4-cell packs, which is all you need for T/A racing. Four cell packs is where it's at for Trans Am... until the LiPos are legal.

Ok, but what about LiPo with BRUSHED motors? Ever going to happen? Say, a 3200mah LiPo with a CO27? Nudge, Nudge, Wink, Wink??

No, probably not. That car would be a LOT faster than the other options in the rules.

I've already tried that back a few weeks ago. 6 of us was trying different things for racing outside. 4 cell 27t, 4 cell 17.5, 4 cell 19t and then I tried the 3200 Carbon, 27 turn. Put two (could have been 3) laps on the field and was 1/2 lap faster than rubber tire stock!!!

We agreed to go the 27t / 17.5 will 4 cell. No one has tried the 21.5 yet.

Let's see Lipo (7.4V) and stock motors, well doesn't that equal using 6 cell (7.2V) and stock motors or in other words, Stock TC but with TA bodies. No, the rules were to have fun with slower cars that handle well rather than start the motor and battery wars of stock TC racing.
