No, because now everybody who is participating already has "Sub-5000" batteries. If the limit were raised now it would run exactly contrary to the purpose of the limit in the first place...to eliminate the perception that a new battery is needed every time mfr's offer bigger batteries.

And face it, NO one is at any sort of advantage (or disadvantage) under the existing rule. There is no shortage of legal batteries, either new or used. Really no need to change anything.

Why not just stay with your SMC pack? It should be just about perfect.

Check out Team Phycho Cell batts. Just go to web site and e-mail him. He has 1/10, 1/12 1cell, and 1/18 lipos. He also has some life packs for nitro cars and one for 1cell pan cars.

Most people pull less than 1200 mah out of a pack in a race with a 21.5. It should be even less now with 25.5.

I didn't see any reason to raise the limit. As time goes on, it might be reconsidered on the basis of availability, i.e. you can't get anything less than 5000. This year it won't change.

Just an FYI, last night on my newly built SS 25.5 car, geared at 3.6 with a weight of 1643g, we ran about 9 minutes and it used less then 1000mah. The temps were around 120.

Last time I ran 25.5 in a parking lot, geared at ~3.4, I pulled just over 800 mAh in an 8 minute main.

A customer PMed about problems replacing his Ballistic sensor harness, so I am posting this here:

Ballistic Sensor Harness Removal

In order to ensure that the replaceable sensor harness doesn’t easily fall out of the Ballistic motor accidentally, the end bell was designed to snugly retain the end of the sensor harness in its connector.

As such, removal of the harness requires special attention so as to not damage the harness itself.

1. Note and mark the factory timing setting on the motor.
2. Using a 1.5 mm wrench, loosen the three flat head screws holding the end cap and sensor assembly in place.
3. Once loosened, grasp the sensor harness as close to the connector as possible.
4. Gently “walk” the sensor harness connector out of the motor’s connector by wiggling the connector side to side.
a. NOTE: You may need to pull up slightly on the harness as there is a small lip on the endbell that may impede the removal of the sensor harness connector in certain circumstances.
5. Once the harness is removed, it can easily be replaced.
6. Next, re tighten the three 1.5 mm screws in the end cap, ensuring that the timing setting is set to where it was noted before the sensor harness removal process was begun.
