Just picked up everything I need to convert my old TC5R to VTA. If I've gotta stick a fake head in the car....I'm out.

I don't know why people are all up in a uproar about the heads. Like was said before, most clubs don't "enforce" that rule and the only time it's an issue is if you go to USVTA sanctioned events. I would think if you were going to those events you understand what the class is about and would have no problem at all putting the driver in. Just my thoughts on the subject.

I totally agree. If I were at a big VTA race then yes I would put a driver in the car but as for club races I think most will say if weight is good then run it.

Wink

VERY NICE!!!
it's nice to see how some racers are just happy to follow the rules and race & have fun

Others, look for a reason to whine & complain,
if you don't like the rules don't race that class, find another class that makes you happy,

but those of us that LIKE the class are more than happy to follow the rules, race & have fun

Its making the whole car slower, who wants a slower car?? that is what really dont care much for. the weight dosent bother me as much. Just using a slower motor, thats what I really do not like.

i sorda agree i dont realyy see the reason to go to a slowere motor but it is what it is i thought that juts a weight increse would of been enought to help the older heavier cars be more compedative

i just hope the racing will still be as close as it is now

The idea behind going slower is to make the cars easier to handle and make the racing about handeling not who has the highest top speed. You also have to consider this class was created with small indoor tracks in mind. If you are running on a large outdoor track the slower motor may be a bit much and your club may not go that route. If you think this class is too slow there is always RCGT or 17.5TC to run in to scratch that itch for speed.

WOW!...I cant believe what I just read....are you guys serious?...I post a and it turns into this?...I wont do that again....

guys a driver figure isnt a big deal.....Ive ran one since the start of the class, all because I like real looking cars...hate TC and if Im getting to race a real looking car, I want it to be real as possible...from the rims and tires to the paint to the dude driving it....

Ive got 2 Tamiya figures that has been in several bodies over the years...cost my $5 I think 3-4 years ago...and weight....what weight?...your paint weighs more....and as far as slow...ha ha ha...Ive beaten plenty of racers without drivers....

please lets move on to the next topic at hand like some VTA events coming up this summer.....travel time
