I've never run on asphalt. On carpet I've ran 3+ full days without much tire wear at all. Now, I'm quite the timid beginner driver, so i'm not pushing the fastest laps or turn speeds.

We run on asphalt here. And I have had some bad tire wear on the fronts. But we do race on an incline so high speed downhill turns can be tire killers.

To my own fault though I did not rotate the front tires between heats. And we are running 6 cell & silver can.

Kevin Nice Pro-4! Wish I had the money myself! Maybe if I can sell my 12L4 and......?

A set lasts many race days on carpet. Really, the problem is that the tires pick up too much traction from the tire sauce over time, and will make your car traction roll. Note that this took like 2 months before they got too sticky. I am saving my old tires for asphalt.

I think that was one of my biggest problems at the nats race. My front tires were somewhat bald and had a ton of grip and I have a feeling I would have been much better off with a set of newer tires. At least on my car it seems a pair of rears could easily last a season of carpet racing.

Is anybody having problems getting the Vintage Tires and wheels?

Are any clubs allowing the 26mm HPI D compound Advan tires as temporary substitutions?

No problems getting any of the wheels or the tires, from any distributor. Just ask the local hobby shop to order, get the from HPI's website yourself, or check the stores on eBay—there are always way to get them. I've never seen them backordered.

AFAIK, no one is allowing ANY substitutions on the tire rule. That's one thing that is universally identical from track to track.

http://www.hpiracing.com/hpiwheels/touring/ HPI has about half of them in stock, and they're only about a $1 more expensive than other mail order sources. JoJo's in NJ has them in stock (yellowbook.com, JoJo Racing in South Amboy, NJ for phone number).

HPI is out of both front and rear tires though. The wheels arent the problem i know my local hobby towns have the wheels in stock but its really hard to get the tires

We in Colorado ran an exhibition race at a car show today and all I can say is what a crowd pleaser. At the second run we have 50+ specators and after the run, we had 15-20 interested car people (not just guys) asking about what bodies were availalbe.

WE NEED COUGARS!!! JAVELINS!!!!

This event went off well enough that they want us back next year and maybe set up a track that we can run more cars. Maybe the New World GT class would make a great "Back Up Class"!!

I'll send pictures and maybe a video of to HPI, They would be very happy!!

We should have it posted to our web site in the next week or so. Once there, I'll post here.
