thanks.
Yes, the sprint2 would be a good car to start VTA with.

The VTA rules change in September 2010 to using a 25.5 motor and certain Novak ESCs. You can buy a 25.5 now as previously suggested, but of course it will be slower than a 21.5.

I bought a 21.5 to finish out this season and plan to exchange it this summer for a 25.5 with Novak's exchange program.

Alternatively, you could buy a Ballistic 21.5 to race until the change in September, then just buy a $40 25.5 stator assembly. You'd still have the 21.5 stator to either sell or hang on to since my understanding is that 21.5 may be a good bet as the next "stock" spec in RC.

The further advantage to the Ballistic motor would be that running with your sensorless esc (has someone tested this esc with the comparatively high-wind motors we use?) the Ballistic has a removeable sensor bundle where the SS motors do not.

We consider the 21.5 and 25.5 our highest wind motors. Someone should probably test out the non-sensored performance with these motors. My understanding is that while the non-sensored escs may be OK with low-wind sensored motors (5.5, 6.5, etc), the performance with these super high wind motors is not good for racing.

Racing generally requires precision, low throttle control (no stuttering on acceleration) which is why sensored systems are preferred for racing.

I didn't make it out to race either. Took the wife out for a candle lit supper and ended up in the horsepital.

Lesson learned; take your wife out for Valentines dinner after the race, never before.

Raced locally and finished 5th out of 7. The main was a real hack fest. I did turn the quickest lap of the day though which was a plus for me. 7 cars on the track (65x36) is almost too many. Didn't help when a driver was going over the rails and hitting cars left and right. I ended up with tire marks on the roof of my car!!

LOL I did not even realize that I was not still looking at the 68 Camaro but a Cuda instead. I took one glance at the paint job and window sticker and posted. Sorry about the inaccuracies guys. I got carried away.

VTA entries in Indy were a bit down due to Valentine's Day and snow. Friday at Indy Slots we had 7 racers, and R/Car also had 7 racers. on Sunday at R/Car there were 10 racers.

Sunday saw a lot of close racing between the top 6 cars. 3 different cars led in the main. For the 2nd week in a row I had a fast car, but suffered mechanical issues in the main. Last week I lost a screw on my shock and this week I blew out an input shaft bearing on my TC3.

Locally we have asked the Tekin racers to run v200 or lower with no turbo, which has kept the racing close. I've noticed a lot more "clean" racing on the track. There has been some door to door action, but a lot more give and take has resulted in better racing on the track.

Win or lose, we have been having more fun.
